Breidis Precott - Is he really any good?

Well is he? His record looks good until you study the detail, beating a few nobodys who hadnt even won a fight and others with poor records. Richard Abril and Amir Khan are the only decent fighters on his record and Abril took him all the way to a split decision. One thing we can say about him is he can punch having stopped 18 in 20 fights. Seems to me, more than a bit premature talking about him challenging for a World title. What do you think?

Him versus Limond would have been interesting.

Very difficult to tell having seen nothing of him. Perhaps if he is staying over here for a while and sparring at one of the British gyms it would give more insight into how good (or bad) he really is. He looked great in that one minute against Khan but it's anybodys guess as to what he'd be like over a longer distance.

Big strong lightweight, but quite a wide swinger -- feel a useful boxer who knows his way round the ring will end his 15 minutes.

More than good enough to expose padded & protected prospects who cant fight, though.

It is too early to say.

He obviously has very heavy hands and is very tall for a LW. Perhaps he's one of those fighters that can look great for 3 or 4 rounds but when he hasn't taken his opponent out can look very ordinary.

Time will tell.He looked very powerfull to me, and my guess is that he will end up at welterweight eventurally, such is his size. It will be interesting to see how he does over longer rounds.If he catch's most people flush like he did Kahn, they'll go down for sure.

Agree with the consensus. We'll know better after December 13th how good Prescott is and how bad Khan really is.

Though if Frank matches him in the same manner as Khan, he'll probably go 50-0

These lanky hard hitting Colombians can be very good though. Like Ricardo Cordoba and Ansemlo Moreno. When they use their reach properly they are very hard to beat.

Obviously 59 seconds is not long to see how good someone is and we all know that Khan cannot take a head shot, period. So his power might, just might, be overated.

But if he can maintain that sort of performance in bursts through the full stretch of a fight and learn to jab and move when he isn't in full throttle, then he could topple anyone.

I think that he has the raw fundamentals, but perhaps needs shaping by a top coach.

I think with his sheer size, reach, speed and hopefully, concussive power at 135lb he can go far.

He definitely has the right attitude...he didn't give a toss about flying over here to fight Khan.

the way we check on boxrec is by looking at say the stats for prescotts last opponent Richard abril who lost a split to prescott over 12

ive been saying thats a good opp for khan in a few fights time...if khan can stop abril then hes back in the running
