Re: British Top 30 P4P October 2008
I am sorry for my lateness in posting the top 30 this month. My computer will not run any programmes, so I am unable to access my wordpad document that has my list on it. I have put this one together just now, so if I have overlooked any results this month please let me know.
Any comments, criticisms or P4P lists are very welcome.

Re: British Top 30 P4P October 2008
I'm stunned that Jennings isn't even in the top 30, he's probably the best welterweight we have.

Am i alone in thinking that David Barnes is ranked too highly?
Who else just missed out? Was paul Truscott near the cut?

It would be nice if he would prove it though. Based on his opposition over the last two years I struggle to keep him in the top 30, as his opponents are not good enough to move him up more than a few places at a time.banjo wrote:I'm stunned that Jennings isn't even in the top 30, he's probably the best welterweight we have.
When Jennings wins his next fight, I will see what I can do.DG. wrote:Its an outrage!

Do you mean that I should have acknowledged that Lindsay is Irish?metropol wrote:Ye put in the new feature well done only lindsay should have been aknowledged, that ko was great wasnt it.
Or that I should have included him in my list (which I did, as a new entry at No.27)?
And yes his KO of Mathews was great.

Re: British Top 30 P4P October 2008
It has been mentioned in previous months that Barnes is too high, so you are not alone. With recent wins over Bami and Morrison, I don't think he is too far off where he should be in the rankings. The quiet man 2004 wrote:Am i alone in thinking that David Barnes is ranked too highly?
Truscott is one of the top 10 contenders, but at the lower end of the top 10.The quiet man 2004 wrote:Who else just missed out? Was paul Truscott near the cut?
Re: British Top 30 P4P October 2008
A lot of people were calling for him to be included before the Coyle fight, so I took the opportunity to include him when I had the chance.whiteboy wrote:can't believe you put ryan rhodes in![]()
Where is twenty six to give me praise?
Hide is close to a place on the list. Hide going the distance in his last two fights put me off entering him at those times.whiteboy wrote:i think herbie hide should in, definately above gavin rees
Re: British Top 30 P4P October 2008
a pretty accurate list mate but i too feel hide should be well in there

Is he Irish? He is planning on fighting for the British title, so wouldn't that make him British?banjo wrote:Acknowledged he is Irish

Thanks. :)caffrey wrote:a pretty accurate list mate
Hide's next opponent looks pretty weak, so I don't think I will be entering him in next month's list. But he is one of the main contenders for a place, and the next time he fights someone half decent he will probably enter the rankings.caffrey wrote:but i too feel hide should be well in there
Re: British Top 30 P4P October 2008
Hold on - so Hide misses out cause of a poor opponent, but Rhodes is in after a realitve struggle against Jamie Coyle?
Re: British Top 30 P4P October 2008
He is eligeble to fight for the british strap as many english men are entitled to fight for the irish belt, he is as irish as duddy and he wears a shamrock on his shorts ( i think ) which would indicate his Irishness.Horse wrote:Is he Irish?
