In 2 weeks time, Khan is sparring with Pacquiao

Amir Khan wrote:"I had to watch the fight, you have to see what you did wrong," Khan said. "But from now I'm going to be having some tough sparring sessions.

"Freddie says he wants me to spar with Pacquiao. I'm going to experience being in an uncomfortable zone and will have to learn how to deal with it.

"Because I was beaten it makes me realise I have to change a lot, stop a lot of the things I was doing - the appearances, the dinner dos.

"I've got to focus on my job because the next few years will be crucial. I will have six weeks over there, just be totally chilled and get away from it all."

I really think he should retire.

4 years as a pro and no progress whatsoever!

If Khan is gonna be having full on spars with Pacquiao then this could be nasty.

Shall we have a sweep on how many times Khan hits the canvas????

I can't remember whether I said it on here or in an email, but I said recently that putting Khan in the same ring as Paquiao would be like putting 135lb of wet toilet paper into one of those machines that makes woodchips out of old Christmas trees.

We're about to find out.

Look for quotes from Khan like, "I was amazed how much bigger than him I was... held my own... nothing to fear at top class... was able to put what I learned from Freddie into practice... sparring with the likes of Paquiao was an honor and gave me new desire to get to the top... I still believe that one day I can replicate what Paquiao has achieved..."

I think Pacquioa will be told to hold back somewhat, but by doing so, Khan might get a bit too big for his boots & then Manny may have to open up. :D

No, I'm pretty sure the sparring will be more of a learning experience, rather than all out wars. Someone will be of the end of a tough session with Pacquiao because I don't see Roach allowing that to happen with Khan! I could be wrong!

"It's going to take him at least a year," Roach said. "He will need four to five fights before he is ready to box for a world title."
"The sparring is going to be of the highest level, it's going to be with guys like Pacquiao," Roach said. "He has got good power, but he has got to go back to his boxing."

Khan does have a weak chin but it's ridiculous to suggest that he should retire!!

Khan is finally prepared to go over the states and get some quality training.I think this knockdown could be blessing in disguise for Khan.

Come on, guys - "freddie wants me to" - "guys like pac man"
So where does this say he WILL be sparring Pac man ?
What if Freddie say yes, and Khan he say no ?
It's like a f@@@in Delmonte advert.
Nice try at resurrection Khan - PR machine in full flow, but I ain't falling for it.
What's the difference betwen Pac Man and Gethin in the ring ? About 12 weeks.
Laughable.

I bet you no one is allowed in the gym to record it.

That would be an instant Snuff Film.

What's the big deal? This is a fantastic opportunity for Khan to learn. There isn't really any negatives in doing this. Pacman will have sparred against guys with far less ability than Khan has and I'm sure none of those guys are dead yet. This is best thing Khan can do IMO - to give him a reality check, a taste of boxing at the highest level, and force him to learn to defend himself against fighters with better offensive skills than he has.

He'll get knocked face down unconscious.

I'm sure Manny Pac will be aware this lad was calling him out, and no matter what anyone tells him about 'keeping ti light', he'll want to teach old Cocky Lad a lesson or three.

Sparred many times mate, but like anybody in here i'm aware my own sparring would not be comparable to sparring with Manny Pac.

To be unaware of how many professional name boxers have been knocked down or out in boxing sparring sessions over time is for you to admit your new to the sport.

If his confidence wasn't low after that 52 second beating. It's going to hit rock bottom after he spars with Manny Pac.

He'll actually see the level he needs to be at, to be a world champion. A level he is no where near.
