I know Amir Khan has qualified and I believe pretty much everyone else is eliminated. Does anybody know what Kevin Evans is up to at the moment. He is a local lad who I used to to train with, but I don't know him that well. However, whilst I know he was going to go for it this year to make the Olympic squad, there hasn't been a dickie bird in the local papers if he has even entered these tournaments.

Any news?

Neil perkins was eliminated by Bulent Ulusoy, score was 28:13. Darren Langley was beaten by Jeyhun Abiyev in the final olympic qualifier . Amir Khan was the only english fighter to qualify

yep, just Amir Khan by himself. Kind of shows up amateur boxing in this country that the only person to qualify is 17. Good luck to him!

i know there's 1 Irish qualifier as well, if you ant to include that as being british

Khan is also the only british fighter to have qualified. Ireland have Andy Lee qualified (bronze medal at the european championships).

Sorry, I just want to know what Kevin Evans has been up to. I thought he had a realistic hope of qualifying if he knuckled down a bit. Did he try and qualify?

I heard somewhere that he was beaten. I don't know at which stage he was beaten, as I have lost track of the amateurs and how the qualifying events work for olympics, but if I am not mistaken, he was beaten in the first qualifying bout. I could be wrong, but I am almost sure that I heard that.

dont think Evans has qualified, i haven't read it anywhere that he has so i assume he hasn't. i think all the chances of qualification have been and gone.

No he hasn't qualified. He was eliminated in the first round in the EChamps in Croatia. Ain't heard naythin since then.

Got to turn pro now, Kevin is good fighter but unfortunately could only have two-three fights a year, the Welsh final when its not Scott Gammar in the opposite corner, cannot be consider much of a contest.

With that kind of preparation he was never likely to make the Olympics - which is a pitty because the talent is there. He should have done some serious training abroad.

I honestly believe Evans is more naturally talented than Harrison.
