In 2 weeks time, Khan is sparring with Pacquiao
Re: In 2 weeks time, Khan is sparring with Pacquiao
I think people are going a bit overboard. I'm sure Pacquiao spars with guy's a lot worse than Khan. I mean he's not going to be sparring top 20 guy's all the time. It's not gonna be a real fight either. Khan might find the going a bit tough, but it's a whole lot better than coasting against the level of sparring partners he's obviously had up to now.

o right, i didnt know you were on a comparable boxing level to khan
i thought you were just an internet warrior
I didn't even say that. Are you semi or completely retarded? Wooo! Lets wheel out the exhausted 'internet warrior' cliche even when it doesn't remotely relate to anything that was said just because it makes us sound like some knowing real tough guy. C unt.

Not many people sparred here then, sparring usually isnt about taking your sparring partners head off
Plus bigger gloves and headgear lessens damage. I mean didnt Arthur spar with Pacman too? Very good experience for Khan

Exactly, sparring is about improving technique against different styles of fighters it is not actual fighting.Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote:Not many people sparred here then, sparring usually isnt about taking your sparring partners head offPlus bigger gloves and headgear lessens damage. It can only be a good thing for him to get proper sparring from such a terrific fighter as Pacquiao.
He will no doubt learn alot more in one session than he has learnt since he turned pro.
But it all boils down to the fact Khan can`t hold a punch .. his style may improve, as well as his confidence .. but when and not if he gets tagged
How long will Roach be around if he realises Khan can`t simply take a shot? .. off the top of my head the type of fighters Roach is normally associated with aren`t exactly the elusive type Khan should emulate to protect that china chin.

Different people treat sparring differently .. some will use it to improve technique etc .. some to get confidence.banjo wrote:Exactly, sparring is about improving technique against different styles of fighters it is not actual fighting.Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote:Not many people sparred here then, sparring usually isnt about taking your sparring partners head offPlus bigger gloves and headgear lessens damage. Hasn`t the term `sparring partner mentality` been used to describe when the regular sparring partners still pull their punches a little or react slower to following up when in a real contest? .. I don`t imagine the top guys pulling too many punches - its just they will wear bigger gloves.

Great sparrng for Khan, and great sparring for Manny too. He'll be more than happy to spar a fighter of Khan's quality. It's easy to forget after the latest shocker, but Khan is a real quality fighter. You don't have an amateur record like that without being something special.
Yes he has the chin problem obviously (and not an issue with sparring really ) but so does Haye - you're only as good as your last fight, and Amir might well put together the type of bounce back that DH has achieved.
I really hope he does, he's an exciting fighter, never in a dull fight, and you KNOW you're going to see a knockout.

Lets hope somebody tapes it.

Pac-man will hold back, and we'll hear exaggerated stories of how well Khan did against him. It's obvious.
Re: In 2 weeks time, Khan is sparring with Pacquiao
i agree that it will be good experience for khan its not as if hes the chief sparring partner for mannys fight against oscar

GBP are providing Manny's gloves.

AK should be all right if he can avoid the dangerous thumb. (On a serious note: it's what Khan needed about three years ago; it'll do him good.)

I accept that, Poodlepoo, but whether he gets hit hard or otherwise, one things for sure, he'll get stood on his head - if it happens.
Surely the job with Khan is about restoring confidence as much as anything else right now and getting his head right ?
If he comes out of this sparring looking what he is - a domestic fighter with potential - is that going to be psychologically right for him ?
I still think there's more PR to this than anything else.

Re: In 2 weeks time, Khan is sparring with Pacquiao
Khan is a fornicating idiot. He does himself no favors. He was on Nuts TV live last night with Ricky Hatton. David Haye told Khan to stop going on all these celebrity programs and focus more in the gym.
Khan seems more focused on his celebrity life style than his boxing. He gets KO'd in less than a minute and he's still going on celebrity programs. He should be focusing on boxing rather than his next TV appearance.
He needs to actually achieve something in boxing before he does TV shows. I think someone said he’s going to be doing celebrity family fortunes in a few weeks.
When he goes over to America to train. He needs to stay there and not come back to Britain to film some crap TV show.
It seems to me that people are trying to take advantage of Khan. Making him go on all these different programs when he hasn't achieved anything. He's going to end up the #1 mug in Britain. All because the people around him want to make money.
