Hearing a few whispers that the big Ricky Hatton bill in Manchester scheduled for June 5 is being moved back to June 12. Still no opponent for "The Hitman".
Wonder what's going on.

If this is true, and its I believe it is very much a rumour, I believe this can actually be a blessing.

Check out the scheduling for June the 5th, no wonder Showtime are not televising the June the 5th bill - their sheduling is full up.

However, with it being on the following week, perhaps something will happen with showtime and then we are more likely to have a better opponent.

Mearly a speculation, but perhaps the extra week will be enough time for Jesse James Leijla to fight.

yeah if this is true, it's probably because an opponent wants a week extra prep. rather get a good opponent a week later, that another Pedersen (with all respect) on June 5th.

decent chance this is because of Leija getting injured. I was backing Leija or Weiss to be in the opposite corner. It was the minimum I'd accept but I'm worried for what blown up flyweight their bringing over now.

Hatton is in the top five now, only people above him will do. He'll face NO THREAT WHATSOEVER from Omar Weis, it'll be a body to pound for 12 rounds, maybe less if Weis caves in.

agree 100%.
remember people; Weis was Super Zab's comeback opponent.
Only other fight of note was a UD over the gun-shy Camacho jr.

with not long to go.......I'm gonna have a scout on the boxrec top 200 boxers at the weight and see if their are any padded records that will come over for a few k!

Weis is underated. The americans at boxingtime (who have a dig at hatton for anything) actually think he would be a credible opponent, and some reckon he could beat Ricky. He's hard to look good against.

Adam, I'm sorry mate, but I have little regard for what BoxingTime.com staff have to say. Weis is not the type of opponent for a man who only wants 2-3 more years at the game to be facing. Hatton is near (if not already at) his peak. He should be fighting Sharmba Mitchell next. Any less and it's bullshit.

Miguel Cotto turned pro in 2001 and his next fight is already in the same caliber as Hatton's best opponents whom he fought 6 years after he turned pro. Imagine how long it's gonna be before we see Kevin Mitchell in there with a decent opponent.
