He looked good last night, didn't he? Good balance, nice array of shots. Used a good straight right and an excellent left hook to the body to beat Greaves last night.
Previous fight he drew with an African, and some say Purdy could have got the decision. Before that he looked very composed stopping Jamie Spence.
There were a lot of wonky stylists on the Hennessy show last night. Hennessy has a strange stable - some really disjointed boxers, and some that fight by the textbook (Murray, Purdy, Barker).
Thaxton certainly did that Ingle style justice last night. Landing power shots after switching, bemusing & hurting the opponent. But it was good to see at least one fighter last night with a style to please the purists.
I can see this fighter going quite far. Certainly British & Euro belts.

Re: Lee Purdy
I thought Purdy looked impressive against Spence earlier this year too, but he seemed to take his time a bit more against Greaves (possibly because he was going over old ground against a former opponent). His body shots seemed to be getting to Greaves, but I felt it was more the injury to Greaves' hand then the punches that forced the stoppage.
I like him and at 21 must be considered one to watch, but after watching the post-fight interview I did wonder how much his heart is in the game as he seemed unsure of himself when asked how far he thinks he can go in the next 12 months before mentioning the British Masters title. Does anyone know if Purdy is from the travelling community? I heard someone say at the York Hall that they thought he was.

He looked uncomfortable during both interviews - after the Spence & Greaves II. Maybe he doesn't like the media side of it, who knows.
