Interesting that Bell's trainer Keith Ellis didn't bother to turn up to the weigh in.

Thats a shock, I thought Porky would take him.
Good on Bell though after a fair layoff to have his biggest win.

After seeing that fight, I would hate to see what Krazy Kim would have done to Porky.
Every time porky steps up he gets beatup. :box:

Lance is superstition.

That's a big statement that doesn't hold up to fact. a majority decision loss to Nader Hamden is a far cry from getting beat up.

For whatever reason, tonight wasn't Porky's night. He looked to have Bell gone on a number of occassion, but wasn't able to finish him off. The cut inside his lip in the third or fourth caused him to swallow a lot of blood - the reason he ended up vomiting in the ring post-fight.

To be honest Bell fought the fight of his life tonight and Porky to a certain degree fought down to his level.

Congrats to Team Bell, they were better on the night. But I would hasten to add that a rematch would produce a different result.

what does that mean? how did that contribute to his TKO?

You are right in what you say mano. Porky was dragged down to Bell's level and was made to brawl rather than box...so well done to Bell for achieving that. Porky looked good early but Bell just kept coming, wresting, pushing....basically wearing porky out and then finishing him. Bell fought the right fight and Porky let it happen. I don't think Porky was 100% right mentally and seemed a little pre-occupied before the fight. Hope he can get it back together and challenge for a re-match.

A gutsy win by Tim Bell, but let's face it he is a solid main event fighter no better. Unfortunately the much hyped Lovett probably sits there as well. Gostellow , as has been said by many posters on Oz boxing forums, is a talented fighter who has been fed a succession of easybeats. Despite what his management say, this is a fact and it has served him poorly ( dropping his hands when on top again ). Look again at how Geale & Kickett have been matched and compare that with Lance. Say no more.

heath stenton issued a challenge to bell last night through 'keefy' ellis who was at ringside at amateur bouts in geelong after doing 6 round exhibition with jonnie "two gunz" walker. both boys looked pretty sharp. heath sort of announced his retirement but eyeballed 'keefy' and said he wanted bell.

hey topp, i'm not his script writer and I spoke to him as well and I'm as confused as you. an excerpt from a printout for the night reads " Heath was ready to hang up his gloves but now feels he has one more hurdle and his name is 'tiger' Tim Bell. Heath feels that he is by far the best light-heavy weight in Australia and plans to prove it, IF the tiger will come to the party. Heath has one goal left in boxing and that is to tame the 'tiger' again." all this mind you with the knowledge that Keith Ellis would be ringside with his boy fighting last fight of the night. was this planned, bloody oath it was. :box:

ahhh..i kind of get it now. but to say "by far the best LH in Australia" that is a bit of a stretch TBH. the nickname 'tickets' comes to mind for him.

must be prerequesite these days for boxers, must admit they haven't got great role models, as even some of the ammos have same demeanour. but i suppose its better than walking around saying " nah, i'm no good, i can't win???
