TARVER v DAWSON: WHO ARE WE PICKING?

Post by overhand_right »

Tarver can't work at Johnsons rate, but he can do more damage with the one-punch, i'm thinking maybe Dawson comes off the floor once or twice but his volleys of punches and youth eventually run Tarver out of the ring.

Tarver did look a little ropey the few times Woods attacked.

Dawson for me. (still say Johnson edged him)

But if Tarver wins... We're guaranteed another Calzaghe cash-in, right?

I am picking Tarver, possibly by KO. I think he will be too smart against Dawson and didn't look as faded in his fight against Woods as he had previously.

Agreed, but Woods let him do as he pleased for the majority, i rewatched it the other day (pretty dull, i must of had too much free time on my hands)

i favour dawson.

he lets em go more than tarver.

all dawson has to watch out for is tarver's left hand.

cos dawson can be shaken as we've seen in recent fights.

dawson on a UD. :box:

This is such a close, tough fight. A real pickem. I'm still going with Tarver - marginally.

Dawson. Younger, more skilled and more determined. Last time Tarver fought someone like this - Eric Harding - he was having life & death.

I've got a feeling Tarver will KO Dawson, who can look a little chinny, light hitting and weak. Tarver looked rejuvinated against Woods and that win maybe a little underrated and hes already at 176, and he usually has weight problems. Theres a reason Tarver beat Jones, Johnson, Griffin, Woods and its not luck

Floyd Sr critisised Dawson a bit saying he was weak but this was after Dawson left and Floyd can be a prize c*nt.

Stylistically both are quite similar lefties, very tall, shoulder roll stick and movers.
