Vitali not only has a longer reach than his brother, but has a very good uppercut, and uses it a lot unlike Wlad.

Are you sure? I've seen virtually every fight and never ever seen him use a single uppercut. He seems to be a jab, jab, long straight right to head or body and thats his lot.

Here is a nice highlight of Vitali, notice against Johnson or Williams how he uses the uppercut, and against all others he throws a semi hook-uppercut in fact and its deadly efficient. He is very tall to he often throws half hook half uppercut.

Ah come on. Its Vitali K for fricks sake. A big huge lumbering stiff robotic freak in his day, now a 38 year old coming off 4 years and severe injuries.

Any solid fighter is going to beat him up. A 38 year old fatty gave him hell for 8 rds in his "prime".

Vitali wont be whipping out any sneaky uppercuts like McCline did, he'll just be getting tired and beat up.

I haven't read most of what's previously been written as the thread took a diversion but Vitali was mightily impressive in there on Saturday night. He swaggered out with hands low at the waist and just picked the much shorter man off all night. The performance rather than the result put the dire heavyweight scene into perspective. Peter was a stocky puncher but probably not the number one (I would tip Wlad for that) but Vitali played with him even after a 4 year lay-off. It was Danny Williams all over again.

Great show, lacklustre undercard but does little to clear up the mess of the division. I mean he's 37 after all, but at least the belts are closer to all being in one area!

I don't think there's anything too shameful about expecting a 37 year old injured guy coming off 4 years to look bad, but as i have said in another thread he proved me wrong -- or at least proved just how sh#t Sam Peter truly is.

At least the same night Dawson got the result i predicted, so it wasn't all bad for me.
