I remember thinking after Bowe 1 that Holy should retire. He was 30 then and I was wrong.

This is horrible though

I wish someone, anyone, would pulmarise Valuev into immediate retirement. The Beast from the East is nothing more than a giant freak show, he has to be one of the least talented heavyweight champions in the history of the sport.

Like most, i wish Hollyfield would give it up, but i'll be wishing him one last hurrragh for this fight!

Harsh on Valuev there, i think he's improved alot over the last couple of years.
He's hard to beat, and i can't see Holyfield having the strength or workrate nowadays to beat him

Valeuv should win this easily. I think this is the route Haye should be going down as opposed to going looking for Wlad.

Fantastic fight for Valuev. He gets to fight a massive name who is way past his best and will earn a fortune because of the interest in Holyfield. I think evander will give him trouble for 2-3 rounds maybe but after that valuev takes over and will force a stoppage or a wide UD.

No way, about as likely to happen as Holyfield/Tyson III (remember THAT earlier this year?!)

Holyfield lost to Ibragimov and has been out of action for a year. Even the WBA couldn't justify that.

Don King has a few heavies to throw into the ring, Kali Meehan, Andrew Golota, DaVarryll Williamson... I'd like Valuev/Golota.

The WBA are all about the money, they will sanction a Valuev v Holyfield fight because they will get a bigger sanctioning fee, then if it was Kali Meehan or Golata in the opposite corner.

The Holyfield fight will probably go ahead in December

Believe it when i see it. Can't see the point when Golota's available, ther Germans aren't stupid i'm sure a character like Golota will do as much business as a FORTY-SIX year old Holyfield.

Couldn't agree more. As Buncey says, because of his size he doesn't get the credit he deserves.

A better Boxer than people realise.

I don't understand your fascination with Golota? its not like he's a spring chicken himself. He's now 40 years old, and hasn't beaten a world class heavyweight since around 2000, and that was Orlin Norris!.

Neither Holyfield or Golota are anywhere near their primes

Golota may generate more interest in Germany, though, based upon his enthnicity.

It would also be less of a car crash.

I actually think Valuev is the best Heavyweight in the world now. I can't believe I am saying this - but I think Younger Wlad shits it if they fought and his survival instincts is based on his superior height, reach, weight and strength over his opponents - well he won't have that over Valuev.

I was really dissapointed in Holyfield vs Ibragimov - that was sad to see, Holyfield looked okay vs Oquendo - it was an acceptable performance... I did start to believe that the shoulder was the cause for his sad displays vs Toney, Byrd etc. Okay it was far from Vintage Holyfield, but I did start to believe in the dream and he had the weakest of the champions -it was back to the inept Holyfield.

One thing Holyfield still has in the power, Valuev looks to have a chin though - he really infact has it all (for this day an age Heavyweight) - not many has his workrate, or his jab or even his speed.

I think November is a huge month for the future of Heavyweight boxing.... Boxing needs Haye.

Not true!! He beat Chris Byrd and John Ruiz in 2004.

You've been fooled by Valuev being steered around actual top 10 opponents.

Chagaev made easy work of him, a 40 year old Larry Donald schooled him, Wlad K and Sam Peter with their punch power (something Valuev has been kept away from) would chop him down.

Chagaev wasn't easy! It was an MD which I think was justified. I scored it to Chagaev but a few scored it for Valuev. Chagaev is good but ultimately too small for the Klitchsko's - who are better technically than Valuev, but wouldn't know how to handle a bigger man - although if Vitali is near his prime on Saturday, I would favour him over anyone.

Peter is too slow and vulnerable himself, way to open - he'd just eat the jab untill he falls.

Vitali K and Chagaev are on the lets wait and see what they are like when they return list - before I make a judgement.

Povetkin vs Valuev = a good fight, I would probably favour Povetkin.

Just out of the champions current - I am calling them - Peter, Wlad K and Valuev - I would favour Valuev and actually pretty comfortably.

He's boring to watch, but he is certainly intriguing.

well on the record he didn't beat them, he's past it now anyway.
I'm not saying Holyfield would be a good choice for a fight with Valuev either, i'd much rather a young guy got it, or at least someone who hasn't been recycled 10 times.
