Zab Judah against british 140lb'er....
On the Jones-Calzaghe undercard, according to www.boxingtalk.com
So, if all is to be believed Judah will be at 140 against a brit.... but who? Witter? Lynes??
Also, in a different article, it's saying Dmitri Salita is now fighting Willie Limond, after Kotelnik pulled out of their WBA title fight.

I like Theopane - but the gulf in class is something else...

Great to see Zab back at 140 lbs...... Zab vs Hatton at 140 has been a fight I have longed to see. Favour Hatton now, but Zab has the skills and serious power. I think it will be a come from behind job for Hatton.

no it's on the current scene i think, if not i've read it somewhere today, i think Judah will win by KO round 4-5

Hatton (provided he wins) against Zab is the big fight at 140lb. I'd favour Zab personally...stujones wrote:Great to see Zab back at 140 lbs...... That said, it'll be either Pacman or DLH for Hatton, then quits.

Ok, cool.... I'd like to see Theopane get a few more wins under his belt in the states - but I suppose big name, big show, probably good money.... can't fault him for taking it - and if he were to win, the gamble would pay off big time.mark thompson wrote:EddieShredder wrote:Guess, or do you know something?mark thompson wrote:

That said, I can't see anything other than a comfortable Judah win.

He's definitely been offered it by HBO. Not clear yet whether he's still fighting on the undercard, or if this is planned for a HBO BAD show.

Now this is what Witter should be doing...get the name guy who is a bit on the slide but still a top opponent...fighting Branco doesnt cut it for me! He gets the belt but as we saw last time, getting the belt doesnt men he gets a title shot, and this time he is much older!
Re: Zab Judah against british 140lb'er....
According to his interview on ITV he was talking about an international contest next, so I think the Branco fight was a red herringthepocketrocket wrote:Now this is what Witter should be doing...get the name guy who is a bit on the slide but still a top opponent...fighting Branco doesnt cut it for me! Judah's nothing more than a gate keeper now, he's gotten an Insane amount of title shots recently.
Re: Zab Judah against british 140lb'er....
I agree at 147, but I still believe he can be a real force at 140. He looked waaay too small at 147, and 140 isnt as stacked with talent as it once was.

Rumours are abound that Kilburn’s Ashley Theophane could soon be taking on former World Champion, Zab Judah.
Both camps are currently in talks over the fight, which could take place on November 8th at Madison Square Garden on the undercard of Joe Calzaghe vs. Roy Jones.
Boxing Capital managed to grab a brief chat with Theophane today (11th October 2008) who believes that Judah is beatable, having won only 2 of his last 7 contests and appeared to surrender in his last defeat against Joshua Clottey.
Judah (36-6, 25 KO’s) would represent a big step up for Theophane (22-3, 7 KO’s) but it really is a fight that Theophane can win. Remember that Theophane is coming off a career best victory last time out against former WBO Light-Welterweight Champion, DeMarcus Corley.
So will it actually happen? We’ll leave the answer to Theophane himself, who told Boxing Capital – ‘the only way the fight doesn’t get made is if Square Ring’s (Judah’s Promoter) offer is slave money’.
Comments like that make me believe a Theophane win is even more possible – he clearly wants this fight badly. Let’s hope the fight get’s made and Ashley can really upset the applecart in Judah’s hometown of New York.
