Rendall gets Fabrizio Trotta for the European title...a man with a W13 L4 D2 record...

Now I like Rendall, he has done well to get the European belt but please, take the Irish money and face Dunne...the standard of opponents during Rendalls reign has been dire!!

Its not Rendalls fault I know, but I expect better fare than this...especially when the Dunne fight is there for the talking!

I thought Rendall and Frank had been after the Dunne fight, but they weren't interested. I'm sure Maloney and his sidekick FTMPress (is it a T?...... anyway) released a few pressers after his last win calling Dunne out then a few calling him a chickhensh!t or somat

You could be right my memory ain't great (plus I have selective vision at times). I suppose FM's argument is that RM's the champ, so why should he travel, but ££££'s do usually talk and Dunnes thinking why should I fight for less on away turf. Hopefully Dunne gets chucked the mandatory spot, because the EU board don't usually take any shit when it comes to mandating the right fights (it's just a pity that on the whole their refs are shit).

The fight has to happen in the not too distant IMO

As Brain Peters put it Dunne can go other directions, I do feel Dunne is the name guy, Munroe needs him more than Dunne needs the Euro belt!!

I think if Rendall beats this guy he will have a big fight early next year, im a big big fan of Munroe and had the whole Munroe-Dunne discussion with big ears (i think), I can't see the 2 camps agreeing on a fight any time soon .

Rendall has the belt and Dunne brings the money, neither are willing to travel however so it isn't going to happen.
Munroe will be forced into a big fight early next year, Simeone Maludrottu will be named the next European mandatory and that fight will take place around February. Dunne could beat Israel Vasquez and he still wouldn't jump past Maludrottu in the rankings.

Dunne himself is fighting on November 15th, they were looking to get a good opponent(Julio Zarate's name was going around) so that Dunne could be pushed towards a fight with Steve Molitor. However I doubt they'll get someone that good on 5 weeks notice.

I hope that after Munroe beats Trotta and should he beat Maludrottu that he goes after some of the better European fighters before chasing World titles. Guys like Kiko Martinez, Bernard Dunne, Matthew Marsh, Michael Hunter and even still Esham Pickering provide a meaningful fight for Munroe and help adequately prepare him for better tests. Now I know that some of those fighters can't be chosen for whatever reasons but what I don't want to see is Munroe v Sean Hughes or Munroe v Massimo Mora.

Anyway, Munroe should make easy work of Trotta.

Was with Hunter yesterday and never seen him as focused or determined to win "his belts" back. He ballooned up to 13-stone earlier this year and looked to be out of it but he's looking red hot again and is about 10 stone right now. He said Bernard Dunne in Ireland wouldn't be a problem but really wants to fight Munroe and reckons he can stop him. Training three times a day now on top of his runs and the only boxer I can compare him to right now is Balboa AFTER he catches the chicken in Rocky II. Out on the Barnes - Lynes card later this year then wants a title fight by Feb at the latest.
