What a fcuking travesty this is. By all acounts James was gentle giant outside the ropes 7 was just trying to earn a living & some little c**t shoots him because he hasn't got the bollocks to put his hands up & have a straightner!

If he's not British, then deport the little bastard back to his own country. Why the fcuk should the taxpayer pay for these people to live in Prison? Its complete bollocks!

Most of the law is concerned with protection of property, hence the saying 'possession is nine-tenths of the law.'

These little fuckers walk up and down acting as if they own the road but 1 good punch and thats them finished.

Sickening what has happened and this boy should be kade a real example of. Throw away the f--king key.

1) 30 Years!

2) Anyone found with a gun to be held in full Prison while awaiting trial.

3) 10 years for unlawful possession of a gun.

4) SEND THEM TO A JAIL THAT IS AS AFR AWAY FROM THEOR HOME AND CONNECTIONS AS POSSIBLE.

The amount of guys I know who mess up peoples lives and all that happens is they are sent to Brixton/Wandsworth Prison to meet up with all the guys and relax.

Believe me - if you start sending people 200 miles away from home they will soon start behaving.

So what if their families and friends do not get to see them - TOUGH!

IF YOU SEND PEOPLE FROM BATTERSEA - CLAPHAM - WANDSWORTH - BRIXTON - PECKHAM - STREATHAM - LEWISHAM
TO JAILS IN NEWCASTLE? - SCOTLAND - CARDIFF ETC they will think twice before the act the idiot.

Kids like this little wanker have to be (I know this is wrong) harshly sentenced, its the nly way yo get the message to little idiots!

100 years is about right!

RIP James.

The prisons are full already so how can you put people awaiting trial in them ???

Anyone else see whats wrong with the following two statements (source:BBC):

Mulenga had been jailed for 30 months in September 2005 for possessing heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply.

Mulenga, 23, was told he must serve a minimum of 28 years in prison for the attack in July 2007.

The mthfcker should have still been in jail.

I dont mean to be the voice of dissension but what business did Oyebolo have of going around "politely" telling people to put their cigarettes out?

a) He wasn't on duty at work.
b) He never worked at this bar.
c) He is 6ft 9 and a former champion boxer. Undoubtedly he could appear intimidating even if
the didnt mean to, telling people to put their cigarretes out. Its hardly the crime of the
century young lads smoking where they shouldnt be. and from what i read. It wasnt a case of
these yobs were an isolated bunch. Loads of people were smoking there cos it was a new
law
and it was a faux garden area, somepeople werent aware how strict the law was in its application.
d) The murdered did fire a warning shot but Oyebolo stood his ground, again over what?
James ego got the better of of him and paid with his life at the hands of a corwardly little kid.Life is cheap to such kids who are predominnant in this youtube generation.

Now dont get me wrong the murdered deserves to be in prison for a long time and Oyebolo had no idea it would lead to this , but it could be said he was throwing his weight around. But I think 17 years (ie till he hits 40) and subject to his repentance was a correct sentence for the murderer in terms of english law. That said the islamic law would be best here, an eye for an eye.Death by hanging. As it is the yellow bellied coward got 28 years which is a good sentence. a round 30 would have been nicer. The ccunt will have plenty of time to consider his actions now. And also why did the other weasly attackers who were with him get off scott free? Even if they didn't fire the shots each of the murderering bastards should have got 5 years at least just for not even trying to stop it and instead goading their mate on.

All a terrible waste all round.

Actually I think you have inverted that in your head, the saying is pointing out that in the eyes of the law ownership is more easily proven if you are in possesion of whatever is being disputed, it does not mean that 9/10s of the law relates to possesions.

Yeah, he got what he deserved. (In other words that's completely irrelevant and should be left out of the discussion.)

Detectives found cigarette butts in the bar that contained the DNA of Dean Francis and another man, who cannot be named for legal reasons.

Who is this Dean francis, not the boxer is it?? Also who is the man who cannot be named for legal reasons, was he under the age of 18 or is he now on witness protection??

Ive read this thread with interest as I feel so angry that sociaty has become what it is, there is no respect anymore for anyone. The police cannot do shit these days there are so many rights for everyone, you only have to mention religion these days and the law goes to pot.

someone mentioned why should Oyebola tell the guy to stub out his fag, but why shouldn't he? Why should anyone break rules and be allowed to get away with it just because we are 'not big enough' to tell them or affraid to do so? I'm quite sure James asked the individual politley to stub out, im sure there were others there also that would have liked to say something as well. I'm sure James felt capable in asking him to put his fag out, lets face it, if it was a 60 year old fellow im sure there would have been a queue to ask him to stub out. We as a sociaty should not be affraid to ask someone to not do something that was not allowed, but we are, and we are because all the knife crime and gun crime there is today.

When i was a kid we were affraid of the police, if a police car came down our road we were shitting our selves in case we had done something wrong. we had respect for teachers, infact we were proberly scared of them, we never bunked off school, the 'school bobby' would be straight around. My dad would have killed me if i got into trouble with the police. Even now parents cant smack their kids without reprocussions.

This country has gone to the dogs, you know my son is in the army, and gets called all vile crap from individuals that have misconceptions what they are doing (but thats another political story).

Why should I or any other person be affraid to venture out into town centres on a night because of all the crime and potential aggrovation it causes, come to our train station on a night and see teens boozing (illegally) and verbally abusing individuals as they pass by, it stinks of piss and no one can do F-all about it. This country has gone to the dogs all right look at the statistics on how many are leaving for other countries, and why are they leaving?????

Bring back capital punishment for the murderers rapists peodo's etc, We have so much technology now that we can be 100% certain who has committed the crime, so mistakes are not as common as they were in the early part of the century. prisons would soon be more relaxed then and maybe these knife wielding and gun slinging minorities would think twice.

I met James Oyebola back in the 80's, i had never seen him before and not heard of him as a boxer but when i was introduced to him i was in awe of this big bloke who was kind enough to chat to me and my mate for a few moments of his time. I will never forget his face, his stature and his size, he was big man with a big heart, and most importantly he was gracious, none of that f this and f that.

Absolutely mind-blowing that anyone would try to say Oyebola was at fault in ANY way over this. He had a perfect right to ask the little cowardly shithouse (and anybody else for that matter) to stub out their cigarette.

Oh, and he didn't run at a 'warning shot'? What on earth?

Although you speak sense latterly, the early point of your post is utterly reprehensible, in my opinion.

What an oddball, questioning Oyebola's motives. Oyebola was always known as a gentle giant. I'll bet there's no way anybody else in that bar would have the balls to speak up and ask those guys to behave themselves.

And the fact he got shot in the back of the head... Well, he was hardly coming at them with his fists then, was he?

What a terrible post by 'Mugabi', trying to defend the indefensible.

James was asked by the owner of the club ( so I am lead to believe) who was a friend of James if he would ask the guys concerned not to smoke so he was just helping out a friend and I doubt he would have been throwing his weight around.

He was helping out a friend.

I agree with the posts on here that advocate hard line sentencing and prison conditions. If we're going to pay taxes to support these cretins rather then throw them in the mincer where most of them belong, we should at least do so in the knowledge that they are as small a drain on the public purse as possible (I'm talking of course about the worst criminals here - murderers, rapists, etc.) As soon as you kill or rape or maim another person in a violent act you surrender the majority of your human rights as far as I'm concerned. In fact, one idea I like is that they should work to earn their food and shelter, just like (most of) the rest of us. If they don't then they don't eat, simple as that. Then the taxpayer's burden is reduced even further. And as others have said, cells should be sparse, there should be few or no perks, and all they should have access to is a library.

Interestingly, there are a lot of people out there - including people who are left-leaning on most other issues - who seem to agree with this general line of thinking.

dear MUGABI you obviously have not got the courage of your convictions. what a coward you are. firstly putting a controversial and poorly thought out angle on the story, then you gradually wind your snakey way to a more mainstream standpoint with a weasel-like ploy of adding expletives to cover your true wishy-washy liberal position. perhaps i am being harsh and you began to think deeper about your original point as the post went on - but i'm inclined to think that you realised what a plonker you are and tried to cover your tracks.

one thing is for certain - you would not in a million years ask anyone to stub out their ciggy

28 years! They really through the book at this one (rightly so too) I thought he'd get about 15. Plus the 28 is a minimum i asked a copper i know about it and he said lifers never get out on the minimum sentance either, he reckons he'll do at least 30-35. Lets just hope the little f***er doesnt win some bs appeal and get his sentanced halfed.
