I hear you on that one.DCAmateurBoxing wrote:I know. I feel like an addict refreshing the page. Oxnard PALs site says that they would be uploading video of ALL finals starting Saturday night. They did a great job last year, but I cannot find anything yet either. Last update from Wed/Thurs. Ugghh.Dennis wrote:Mel - I keep checking your website too. How about someone else? Isn't there anyone in Oxnard that wants to be the first to tell the world about what happened at the Nat'l PAL last night?

Re: National PAL Info & Results
Who won between Douglin and Browne at 165? That should have been a great bout.
Re: National PAL Info & Results
My apologies - the results are now up on my web site. I got sick yesterday and was unable to work the finals. www.amateurboxing.com.

I didn't know Nick Kisner was at the PAL. I know he's going to Mexico with 2 other DC boxers, but I guess this was his last opportunity to get some good work in. How did he look, anyone?

So did errol spence beat javontea starks bad i heard it was an 5-0 decision
Re: National PAL Info & Results
Thanks Mel. I was wondering if they were just using clickers at the Nat'l PAL or if they were using a new ESS that has each judge separate. Does anyone know? Mel?
Re: National PAL Info & Results
Kisner v. Thompson. 2 runners going at it or did one of them decide to stop running and start boxing?

Re: National PAL Info & Results
As far as douglin and browne.. Browne won a 3-2 decision.. Me and a bunch of other ppl thought other wise though. though browne looked a lil sharper in the first round.. douglin clearly out worked him in the latter rounds.
Re: National PAL Info & Results
i talked to errol last nite and he said he outpointed javontae in the 1-3rd rounds and got a lil tired in the 4th cuz he had to get up in the morning and run from drinking too much gatorade lol..i wanna see the fight when he posts it and i also wanna see browne-douglin..anyone have any footage yet?
Re: National PAL Info & Results
Been sick since Saturday. :( Checked my web site tonight and could click through to the PAL championship results. Please let me know if you still can't get to the page. Thanks.
Re: National PAL Info & Results
Works fine Mel. Thanks.
Re: National PAL Info & Results
From what I was told was that Spence beat Starks. It was a good fight but he earned the decision. Jamal James was taken advantage of by the judges in his 141 pound bout! He lost 3-2 but the crowd lowdy protested the decision.
Re: National PAL Info & Results
We came from El Rio, CA to see a glimpse of a slick middleweight/165lbs female boxer from Florida, Tia Daniels. We first seen her at the 2007 Ringside, and was very impressed with her slick style of boxing. We were very disappointed to hear that her opponent from Oxnard, CA refused to show up and box. I’m sure her opponent heard or read about this slick southpaw. I don’t blame her for not stepping inside the square circle.
Re: National PAL Info & Results
Do you know for a fact that Arelene "refused" to show up? It's possible she didn't make it for any number of reasons - sick, overweight, etc. I have never known her to back down from an opponent. And where would she have read or heard about Tia Daniels? I have no clue who she is and I'm pretty knowledgeable. We were very disappointed to hear that her opponent from Oxnard, CA refused to show up and box. Yea your right, I mean who would just back out of a fight for no reason and especially the finals, it doesnt make any sense unless there was a good enough reason but I doubt fear was one of themboxmel wrote:Do you know for a fact that Arelene "refused" to show up? Re: National PAL Info & Results
There are a lot of reasons fighters don't show for tournaments or if they show why the bout doesn't happen.
1. Illness
2. High blood pressure, abnormal heart rate, or something else that causes them to fail their physical.
3. They don't make weight.
4. They oversleep and don't make the bus to the venue.
5. Car accident on the way to the venue.
6. Being arrested.
7. Having a loved one get hospitalized or pass away.
8. Fear - yep it does occur.
I'm probably missing as many as I listed. You name it, it happens.
