Craig McEwan v Alfredo Angulo?

Post by Autobarn »

Is there any substance to the rumour that Scotsman Craig McEwan takes on light middleweight hard nut Alfredo Angulo on the Hatton-Malignaggi undercard on Nov 22?

If so, it will be interesting to see a Brit moved into a tough, prospect vs prospect fight. Having already learned his trade vs some tough (if smaller than himself), hard headed Mexicans. Often we see Brits over here wrapped in cotton wool or moved the traditional way very slowly. Even though Anfulo is from a lower weight, McEwan will really have to deliver.

Can he do it?

Is the fight happening? (McEwan was going to fight on a Hatton undercard last time & it fell through.)

If they're honestly thinking about putting him in with Angulo, they must have some real faith in the lad - because Angulo looks the business :o

Fair play to both of them if they take this, good to see to prospects willing to risk their "0".... Angulo a heavy favorite for me though.

McEwan may have enough advantage with size & weight being on his side. Angulo's much more experienced though, even if it's down at 154, and being a switcher, may not be bothered by McEwan's southpaw style/switching.

Very tough fight for McEwan, big respect to him if he takes it. Doesn't seem to make sense for two prospects from different weight divisions meeting each other or are they the same weight? Good luck to Craig if this one comes off.

This one could end badly. Angulo is a rough puncher with an aggressive style while McEwan is stiff and upright. It could be over very, very quickly.
