Dont know about overseas fight buts here the the aussie boxing.
Tuesday 23rd September, 2008 -: At a media launch today, international boxing promoter, Golden Gloves Promotions announced a new event for Australia’s hottest boxing prospects. Golden Gloves will be staged for one night only at the Hordern Pavilion, Sydney on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at 6.30pm.

Adam Watt, Managing Director, Golden Gloves Promotions said “Golden Gloves & Network TEN are working together to return the sport of boxing to a position of prominence it has previously enjoyed in the Australian sports world. This event gives boxers a great platform to become real household names.”

It’s an action-packed evening on the 25th with nine fights on the card showcasing a stable of the best and brightest new stars from the boxing world. The first title of the night is the IBO Super Bantam Weight World title: Thomas Mashaba ‘The Rock’ from South Africa vs. Jackson Asiku Australia. Other Australian boxing talents on the card include Zack Awad, Lenny Zappa plus Bondi-based sensation Daniel Pawsey and former Olympian Adam Forsyth.

Watt also commented, “Australian boxing currently has a lot of potential with many young men poised to take the next step and be world champions. This is a unique and exciting time for the sport with so much natural talent ready to make their mark in the history books.”

Golden Gloves is a new, high energy, multi media event and includes special effects, computer generated analysis and statistics shown on giant video screens throughout the venue. To keep the fast-paced action, upbeat live music features the lethal musical mix of The Martini Club.

Network TEN’s premiere sports presentation is a national telecast on its HD channel the same night on Saturday 25th from 8.30pm. The commentary team is Host, Greg Rust with Ringside Commentary: Paul Miller, Paul Kent, Mat Brooks; Expert Commentary by legendary trainer, Johnny Lewis; Backstage Reports by highly acclaimed boxer, Kali Meehan and Roving reports from Ali Mutch.

Yeah you will need a HD set-top box but dont expect the HD 1080i picture Qlty, With a HDTV you get to see the fight in all its HD glory.
Fights in High Def look so damn great.

I only have a set-top box but my Laptop has a tv-card where i can watch All (free to air)HD channels.

I wouldn't be locking this in just yet.

A few non-boxing issues may nix the card yet.

The South African company co promoting the fight have pulled out following the Watt drug bust so the card is off and the four fight free to air deal is gone as well. Hopefully someone can keep channel 10 interested in free to air boxing. I won't hold my breath. Feel really sorry for Jackson Asiku who has had so many promised fights fall through.
