Yeah the whole reason of a perth fight was to promote a green rematch, but that fight now seems unlikeky.Hounddog wrote:Why in Perth?

not argentinian, but close enough....
the guy has a decent record on paper, take a closer look and its just another typical AM opponent. how does beating this guy at a catchweight make AM eligible for a title shot?

Probably a bigger crowd, He will get 5000 people at Challenge stadium. How many does he get in Sydney. Trying to lure someone into a rematch.Hounddog wrote:Why in Perth?

mundine is just wasting his talent. he should be chasing the name fighters. should fight them in his prime even if he needs to take a pay cut. then his biggest paydays will come.

Re: mundine to fight rafael pintos of uruguay
ok so he wins, fails to entice Green to a rematch and ends up in line to fight Sturm. So he'll have a genuine chance at another world title. I wonder what excuse he will find to get out of this one. Maybe now that everyone he talked about fighting at MW currently reside at SMW & LHW will see him move back up. Or maybe it will simply b that "he's the man" and therefore Sturm should fight him in Oz.
All I know is I won't be suprised when the excuse comes. Mundine... Prove me wrong please!

Pintos has lost the only fight he has had outside of South America. He does not seem to travel well.
Re: mundine to fight rafael pintos of uruguay
is the fight at 160?
Re: mundine to fight rafael pintos of uruguay
73.5 Kg catch or 161.7. Less than a kilo over Middle.p4p1 wrote:is the fight at 160?
Re: mundine to fight rafael pintos of uruguay
As I understand it he gets decent crowds to his fights but not many people actually pay for their tickets...ben k wrote:Probably a bigger crowd, He will get 5000 people at Challenge stadium. How many does he get in Sydney. Trying to lure someone into a rematch.Hounddog wrote:Why in Perth?

Re: mundine to fight rafael pintos of uruguay
if this fight is marketed correctly in WA, as a possible announcement for Green v Mundine 2 then they may get a decent crowd. Green machine promotions are helping out quite a bit with the promoting side of it. A big hurdle will come now that they have announced his opponent. Unless it is a very very good card I wouldnt be paying to see this. As stated in so many other forums, Mundine is wasting his talent. Get a well credentialled US opponent and interest will increase but against this guy I can't see the interest. If he fights Sturm it will have to be in Germany so the likelihood of that happening is slim.

Re: mundine to fight rafael pintos of uruguay
sturm will come to oz as drews did for green- its called money!
he will fight title fight at middle weight and will be his first and only fight at middleweight
this fight is at 74kg
will then relinquish and fight green at light heavy adn aim for third world title at this weight
no press here in perth on it, fk all tix sold, bet it "goes away"?!!

Re: mundine to fight rafael pintos of uruguay
Sturm to fight in Oz! You must be a joking right? He would get 3 times the money in Germany fighting a bum and besides he's the champion.
Boxing is a job for The Man and nothing more. He doesn't need to take risks to get paid and as long as he believes people buy into his BS he'll still think he is The Man

Re: mundine to fight rafael pintos of uruguay
Sturm and Drews are two very different kettles of fish. No way Sturm comes to Australia.
Re: mundine to fight rafael pintos of uruguay
I've got a feeling that Mundine V Sturm could be on a Goldenboy Promotion.
