Negative Hatton topics being deleted! Why?

Post by ALI »

It has come to my attention of late that threads concerning Ricky Hatton (mainly on his controversial split with Billy Graham), have been deleted recently, or removed and integrated into other threads (presumably to limit the potential viewing figures).

I think that if our freedom of speech is to be capped, then the least Boxrec can do is give us an explanation as to why this is happening.

I think its all to do with being sued. I agree, we should be able to have our say but SN, Team Hatton and Team Khan especially are very sensitive about some of the things we say. Lets be honest opinion is one thing but some on here do get a bit personal. I had a Khan thread removed which I was upset about.

Let's just say someone from Team Hatton reads this forum and tends to complain when there's something anti-Hatton.

Even if said article/post has been proof-read by a Solicitor so the legal angle can't be used.

The funny thing is, nothing appeared to be libelous....... all i can gather from it is that those folks 'behind the scenes' are getting sweaty over Hatton's 'man of the people' image being questioned.

Especially concerning any direct talk over the treatment of his beloved Billy Graham, this is not a very welcome subject around here!

:DDD :box:

That’s why it seems so peculiar. Given Hatton's popularity, why would anyone get their knickers in a twist over a few postings on an Internet boxing forum?

Threads have been deleted and shuffled late'ly, make no mistake about that.

To save forum space, otherwise you end up with 5 threads of Hatton bashing and it just gets tedious when you can post it all in one. Deleted threads have either been deleted because of offensive comments or for "legal" reasons.

I agree with the first part but not the second. I had a thread running on Amir Khan that contained no offensive comments, nothing illegal, and nothing libellous yet it was deleted. It told the truth thats all but SN, Sky or Team Khan maybe didnt like the truth being told.

There are about 500 anti Hatton and anti Khan threads a day and i imagine that besides from using up bandwidth, it also looks really, really bad for potential new posters to have a forum where the same 20 bitter, rambling ne'erdowells feel the need to start endless threads criticizing Britain's 2 most popular fighters.

Not everyone in the world thinks like you lot do

Also all those, "im so and so, and here's my opinion about what a pudendum Ricky Hatton is, and how he ducked Wittter" threads (You know the ones....) are dreadfully navel

I use these forums daily and i can tell you that your above "quote" is nonsense. Please take a look up and down page one of the forum and tell me just how many anti Hatton threads you can see............ and just for the record, this thread is NOT anti Hatton.......... and neither am i while were on the subject!

I posted a perfectly reasonable Hatton thread containing nothing libelous. At that time, and even now, there are very few Hatton threads on the forum, so o' wise one, any brighter idea's on what the problem may have been?

Also, anti threads have just as much right to be here as pro threads do......... its called freedom of speech. Though i must admit they can get very tiresome when someone appears to have an axe to grind!

What a pissy girl you are

Take a look in Boxers of the Past and you'll see anti-Ali, anti-Robinson, anti-Leonard, anti-Marciano etc. around there somewhere. If fighters who are regarded as the greatest of all time can be criticised then why get all moany when a very good fighter like Hatton is criticised. It happens in every sport all over the world and always will for the rest of time.
Britain's 2 most popular fighters
What does that have to do with anything? Are you one of these "support him because he's British" loonies?

Ok handsome, so you are running a forum on a boxing website and are hoping to get more traffic and increase its "influence" on the internet.
How do you think it looks to people who are not posting here and maybe live in the real world to have 1000's of threads on the lines of either "I'm DG, listen to what i say :TU: :TU: :box: :DD Hatton is ducking Witter!" or "Khan is chinny, lolz, he's just a fraud!!!!"?

(No offence meant to DG, btw)

It looks fornicating retarded and insular, frankly.

Its not that anyone says, you cant criticise anyone, its just that its endless, dull and been said millions of times already.

Do you need to post a new thread every day consisting of "Look what Hatton's done now, he's such a fraud!!!"

mmm?
