Random thoughts from last weekend's fights

Post by chinny »

WTF was Riddick Bowe doing ringside in Berlin? It was him wasn’t it? He looked pretty slim considering how many kitchens he owns

Tarver didn’t look anything like the man who killed Superman. He didn’t even look like the man who killed JFK. He can take a whack but he was throwing arm punches from about round 5. He was in denial big time after the fight though.

Tarver’s missus is much fitter than Dawson’s

Why make Tyson wear such an unflattering white shirt?

Where does the money come from for German boxing promotions? Obviously loads of tickets sales but this was on RTL, which is basic cable, right? (or even free to air?)

Steve Farhood completely missed the fact that Vitali suggested he (or his bro) were likely to go after Valuev

Did Bunce's missus find him jerking off over the Pussy Cat Dolls? What's he got against them? One is a tranny and the lyrics are disrespectful to Peter's upbringing? :o

25 million viewers for an average Sauerland event shows the level of interest in Germany. It's insane.

Tickets weren't that expensive for Sat, bout £50 less than the comparison Haye v Barrett ones.

The was defo Riddick Bowe at Ringside, and I am worried we may now see him back in the ring. What would a Vitali - Bowe fight be worth in Germany?

Bowe v Golota III strikes me as far more likely, with the winner to fight Vitaly.

Weren’t the German promoters negotiating with Holyfield last week (before Valuev refused the fight)?

You see where I’m going with this? Oh dear

Steve Farhood was technically correct (I think) when he said that no boxer has ever comeback form a 4 year absence without and tune ups to win a title.... but of course not that long ago, in Germany someone came back and beat a world champion in a 12 rounder from a 10 year lay off with no tune up.

That was Maske wasn't it? That was a WBA halfway regular belt - someone else had the super belt (Mormeck or Bell) I believe. You could argue that if there was already WBA champ, that Maske didn't win a real world title.

Title wasn't on the line at all (thats why I said technically he was correct) - but in this day an age you've got to class Hill as a champ, in the somewhat same way Peter was a champ. Just as the WBA had a Super Champion, the WBC had a champion emertius.

Stll think what Maske did is far more impressive than what Klitchsko did. Maske beat a guy, who was better than him when they were both in their physical prime and was active and looking good in previous fights.

Klitchsko battered a guy who we all knew wasn't in the league of the 2004 Klitchsko.
