Which 1950's fringe Heavyweight contender caused a delay to the Marciano V Wallcot rematch by injuring the Rocks nose in sparring?

The Rock definitely avoided a young up and coming Julius in my opinion.

That would be Tommy Harrison.
I only know this because some years back I bought a ticket from the re-match, and wondered why the date on the ticket was different to the date of the actual fight.

Apparently after the injury when Marciano resumed sparring he wore some sort of nose guard.
I wonder if this injury weaked Marcianos nose for the Charles fight? Just a thought.
