Live Heavyweight Boxing on Setanta Sports Australia
http://www.setanta.com/en/AU/News/Live- ... Australia/
Setanta Sports and Haymaker Boxing can now confirm that the first fight of David Haye’s quest to become world heavyweight champion will be against the powerful American Monte ‘Two Gunz’ Barrett. The fight can be seen exclusively live on Setanta Sports on Sunday November 16th from the o2 arena in London.
The first fight of the four-fight deal signed between Setanta Sports and Haymaker boxing, which runs from 1 September 2008 to 31 December 2009, will provide an exciting spectacle as Haye’s planned assault on the heavyweight division begins against Monte Barrett, a man that has been in the ring against David’s ultimate opponent, Wladimir Klitschko.
The next four David Haye fights, which will be exclusively live to Setanta Sports subscribers and hosted at the o2 arena, will include:
• David Haye v Monte Barrett, November 16, 2008
• David Haye v a top 10 ranked heavyweight opponent in early 2009
• A world title bout against a reigning Heavyweight World Champion (most likely against Wladimir Klitschko) in the middle of 2009
• A world title defence if Haye wins the World Title later in 2009.
Setanta’s star boxing presenter, Paul Dempsey commented: “David has already proven that he is a phenomenal fighter and one of the biggest hitters in boxing and his step up to heavyweight is a really exciting one. Monte Barrett is a really challenging first opponent in Haye’s quest for the world title and I can’t wait to see how the action unfolds on November 16.”
David Haye said: “This is a really exciting time for me and I can’t wait to get in the ring to fight Monte Barrett. He’s a good fighter but I believe I am superior in speed and power and have a good chance of knocking him out. This will be an exciting first fight in my deal with Setanta and as always I will be looking to give the fans exactly what they want, so get your subscriptions and don’t miss it.”

David Haye is drinking his own bath water. Obviously the old 'one fight at a time' does not apply to him

With haye his mouth isnt a marketting tool, like mundine for eg...he is just very very confident in his own ability.toppity wrote:David Haye is drinking his own bath water. Obviously the old 'one fight at a time' does not apply to him
May be he is putting to much pressure on himself but he certainly doesnt see it that way...he believes everything he says, and i for one-like many people-think he is just what that hw division needs to get the interest back and take some limelight away from the welterweights.
Re: Live Heavyweight Boxing on Setanta Sports Australia
I know it won't happen but I would love to see Barrett ice him...
Re: Live Heavyweight Boxing on Setanta Sports Australia
haye is very smart actually. he knows if he talks himself up it will bring interest and if he can beat a couple of handy opponents then a real big payday against wlad is virtually assured. there will be huge interest if this fight happpens. the people who believe wlad is a fraud will watch and the people who think haye is full of himself will watch.

Only takes one punch. I am sure Barrett wasnt suppose to win his last fight either !! I havent seen enough of Haye to comment on his chin, but if Barrett lands flush, he'll know about....I can only dream, C'mon Monte !!!!Marlin wrote:I know it won't happen but I would love to see Barrett ice him...
Re: Live Heavyweight Boxing on Setanta Sports Australia
You're right he wasn't supposed to win but it seems something like that what always going to happen to Fields... but as you say, C'mon Monte !!!!
