I only saw the bit where Amir Khan's future was being discussed.
Most people seemed pessimistic about him rebuilding his career, especially Herbie Hide who repeatedly said Amir was finished!

Lol does Herbie believe that getting knocked out finishes careers!Peter Hick wrote:I only saw the bit where Amir Khan's future was being discussed.

Watched it all, was decent enough to be honest, bit surprised it was quite watchable.scotty wrote:Completely forgot about this magazine show on ITV4 Saturday :( . Did anyone see it?
Rosenthal sitting on a stool in front of Rawlings and Mckenzie - by a small boxing ring and talking boxing, they had Danny Williams on and that was a decent off the cuff type interview/chat, Carl Froch talking about the Pascal fight was shown as well. McKenzie got in the ring and discussed some moves, that was entertaining. Amir Khan was discussed as well.
I thought it pretty tidy for a first effort to be frank.

Plus Conteh v Hutchins from 1977 was shown at the end of the program.
I thought the whole thing was good, nice to hear the interview with Danny. You usually only hear him speak after a fight.

missed this.
i notice woodya has put quite a lot of it on his youtube channel.
from the comments it looks like the only things he hasn't included are the discussions on amir and duke in the ring.

Re: Big Fight Round 2
I recorded this and watched it last night. I really enjoyed the interviews with Danny Williams and Carl Froch.
Dannys brutal honesty made me laugh, amongst other things he said
"even I don't know what Danny Williams is going to turn up",
"I've always been unpredictable in the ring, right back to my amateur days"
"Yeah I feel sorry for all my trainers, because I've been all over the place at the times"
"I actually weighed about 19 stone for the Gammer fight, the scales must've been wrong" (his official weight for the fight was 16 stone somat)
Froch seems to have toned down his "I am the Greatest" persona infront of the cameras, which IMO is a shame, but I suppose it'll appeal more to the masses. He's still suprememly confident, he's just made a a change in tact. I believe it 100% when he says that he'll leave everything in the ring and he'll cut no coreners in training... roll on Dec 6th. Froch makes an excellent pundit as well going on last weeks performance.
Herbie Hide was scathing on Amirs chances of beig successful... "He's finished"

Re: Big Fight Round 2
It was good to see Conteh destroying Lonnie Bennett in a proper world title fight. Conteh butted him, then sparked him. As Mickey Duff said in his autobiography: "Bennett was a typical ghetto tough nut who had served time for a shooting...
"Conteh wanted to win far more than him."

Recorded it and forgot all about it until this thread. Is it going to be on every week?
Re: Big Fight Round 2
The big fear is that they'll get round to Joe Bugner.

The short left hook Conteh took Hutchins out with was a thing of beauty.

It was the Hutchings fight they replayed where he butted him then sparked himbennie wrote:It was good to see Conteh destroying Lonnie Bennett in a proper world title fight. Loved the show. Boxing needs more of this. Boxers and pundits seemed to be relaxed and willing to talk openly. Showed highlights of recent scraps plus the Conteh piece.
This is a huge step in the right direction for ITV.
loved it.

Re: Big Fight Round 2
I thought is was very very good show.
Great idea to mix the new with the old as boxing fans tend to like hearing about the history.
The show didn't suck up to any fighter, any promoter. It was a knowledgeable and honest discussion.
It's not anything like Buncey's boxing thing on Setanta or the old Sky Sports boxing show.
The producers should pat themselves on the back. They got it right.

Re: Big Fight Round 2
We could be in for Audley Vs Danny III at some point going on Dannys comments, he definately doesn't like Our Aud!!
Re: Big Fight Round 2
Just watched it yeah definately looks like Danny wants that fight
Interesting to say that the scales were wrong for the Gammer fight aswell. Herbie hides assessment of Khan was pretty funny aswell
