lol yeah they are. Forrests' opinion is interesting though. This fight is far more intriguing IMO than the Hop/Calzaghe one.

I think Hopkins could outpoint Pavlik, as I dont think KP will have the opportunity, nor the target, to throw 90/100 punches a round
I had Taylor winning 7-5, this will be interesting because Hopkins will be the most skilled boxer Pavlik's faced with his defense and counters. Hopkins usually manages to make his opponent's output drop by half because of the traps he sets and managed this with Winky Wright, Calazage. However Hopkins is really really old at 43, thats the only reason I'm favouring Pavlik, just too young, too much workrate, big power and he has speed too aswell as underrated boxing skills

Hopkins to retire after round 10. Possiblt citing a dubious injury.

I think Pavlik wins here.

He has a superior work-rate and you know with Kelly that he's going to come into this fight in the best possible shape. I also wouldn't be surprised to see B-Hop down tonight, if not stopped. Kelly can bang and surely he's going to land one, especially late on when Bernard's tired.

But I think that tonight Hopkins will be beat by his widest margin. I'm going with 117-111.

I think Hopkins has the defence to cope with Pavlik's power punching, but we know he lacks 12-round fitness. However, I don't believe Pavlik has Calzaghe's variety or timing, which is what Joe needed to win.

I'm going for Hopkins, in the belief that KP's too straightforward. I see a TKO in the middle rounds. Feel free to take the piss if I'm miles out. :TU:

Joe lost that fight...Pavlik will have to go some to beat Hopkins, though I do suspect another dodgy hopkins loss

I am bored with Hopkins. His age is going to catch up with him sooner or later and I feel this may be the fight.

Outrageously I am going for a mid round stoppage by the Ghost. Hopkins doesn't like the heat anymore and may be running out of tricks and places to hide.

Fvcking hell. What an absolute master class from Hopkins.

I never saw that one coming to be honest. This type of performance ignites my imagination of what boxing once was. Pure throwback stuff. Boxing/fighting without bells and whistles.

Hopkins proved his Legend status. Proving a "0 Losses" means little on your record, when you have heart to wins like this at 43

Even though I said KO, my point was that he would dominate, which he did. And I DID see it coming.

Incredible fitness and pacing from a man of B-Hop's age. I never thought Pavlik could beat a focused Calzaghe, and the latter came very close to losing against Hopkins.

I am sure there would be many old timers, sadly departed, with 100+ fights in what would be modest claims at that time, sitting up with a wry smile - magnificent performance from the 'old' man.

Hopkins off the front foot doing the damage early doors, showing mobility and breaking Pavlik's undoubtedly big heart. Never saw it coming.

Hopkins threw up a performance that was a pure throwback to an era long gone. HOF the guy.

You know, I think it was probably more impressive than Calzaghe's win over Lacy. We might need time to reflect on that. Was Pavlik a more elusive target than Lacy?

BHop said in pre-fight that Pavlik had never had to look to adapt or change as his style was 100% successful, even when in the trenches. And how he was proved right. KP was compelled to persist with Plan A as not only had it won for him, it had got him out of a jam.

Nice £100 winnings for me from a £30 stake.

I was by no means certain that BHOP would win, but his odds were ridiculously good value considering how close he was to beating Calzaghe and the fact that he was fighting a fairly green fighter who had looked vulnerable in previous fights (particularly against Taylor) and was stepping up in weight!!

Hope all you guys who picked Nard had some money on him :TU:

The only man that ever came near to that level of performance at that age is Archie Moore

Wow! How wrong I was. Woke up in at 5am to get to a sports bar/casino on Noviy Arbat in Moscow and stick a few roubles on the fight and watch on the big screen with other similarly inclined chaps. Covered Pavlik to win by KO in 9, 10 or 11, and was completely blown away by the quality of the old man. I was almost (but not quite) glad to lose my money.

I have never, ever seen any fighter so effective at taking somebody else’s strengths away. Hopkins is simply a legend.

And, regarding another thread: Ha-ha-ha – stick that in yer pipe and smoke it, Steve Kim.
