One average performance and he's worthless :-? . He's still gonna be a champ.
if it was only one average performance there would be no concerns. but another piss poor performance against a 40 year old brought in for him to beat is yet another nail in the coffin of my support for Audley. Every time another fight is announced greater is my hope that someone finally sparks him and we can say goodbye to him. when he first started I supported him, went to see him fight in his 2nd or 3rd fight in Glasgow and was far from impressed. So far hes fought no-ones that any of us could beat. so taking out an opponent when it siuts him isnt a sign of skill, its a sign of a mismatch, chossing a guy who cant prove anything.

Hes had 16 fights now and who exactly has he fought? how many decent fights has he been in and how many of those 16 fights has anyone actually sat up and said he looks a bit special, capable of going all the way? Fact is that he turned pro after becoming an Olympic Champion therefore it is naturally right that he is considered better than his contempories turning pro around the same time and that his rate of progression should be that bit sharper, but is it?

After his 16th fight Lewis had won the european belt and the Brtish title. By his 20th he had added the Commonwealth title. Audley isnt even close to British level yet. hes won some mickey mouse world championship baubble against a dutchman!! Take a look at Brahim Asloum who won the flyweight title in Sydney, the Frenchman is already European champion and fights with his whole country behind him. Is it the same for Audley here? we were constanly told to give him time, well hes had 3 years he's had 16 fights which is probably around half the total fights he will have and he's still looking nothing special

All this "its a learning process... he was a hard durable opponent.... im in it for the long journey... i looked good in there... keep believing" bullshit is really beginning to grate.

Unfortunately Audley will probably become a champ of sorts with one of the more recognised belts not so much because of his talent, but due to the fact the heavyweight division is looking so bad just now.
Please go away Audley

Well I like most of you was disappointed in Harrisons performance. it was a dull performance which lacked any real fire and determination from either side.

Harrison showed at times a nice jab and good lateral movement for such a big guy. But that's the only positive thing I can say about the fight.

Stamina wise we are still non the wiser as Harrison was under no real pressure and the fight was at a slow pace.

As for power, Harrison really should have stopped Francis in less than 6 rounds IMO. Yes Jukes is a cagey surviver these days, but so what! Harrison wants to be regared as potentialy World class, so he should have stopped Jules like every world class fighter Jules has faced.

I still have high hopes for Audley Harrison but last nights performance makes it difficult.

I agree with Stujones, a 100% committed brawler like Skelton in Audley's face for round after round would see Audley crumble like a sand castle..plus Skelton can dig and when he connects i doubt Audley would be sticking out his tongue and bobbing about like a lunatic everytime. The BBC arse kissing was scandalous, it was a glorified sparring session and all the "yes" men knew it, they just value there jobs more so save the criticism...not that i blame them mind you.

I can't believe anyone expected Audley to stop Francis.

As a big doubter I actually didn't think it was a bad performance - but that's because I've never been under any illusions about how far A-Force can go. He's right in the British mix but that's it, that's the level he was destined to reach from day 1.

BTW who saw the bloke in the crowd flashing his arse twice during the ninth round? That was HILARIOUS.

well with jules 'known commdity' status we knew this one would tell the truth on audley, and it did.

he was terrible. no artillery, no clue, the worse thing of it all is julius IN HIS DAY was an average skilled heavy. now hes old & fat and on a losing run, yet audley could only put him down in the 12th because he was completely knackered.

audley is shit. i've lost all my faith in him. hes going nowhere slowly.

danny williams, herbie hide, sinan sam would all probably do him over.

What???????????????????

Tyson and Klitschko perhaps.....but:

Welch, Kulpin, Williams, Sam, Krasniqui, Nielsen, Holden, MICHAEL MURRAY, special???????????

And to say that Francis is a big puncher....really....
lot's of "wasn't too far away with the right/left"'s and "not quite connecting"'s every time a punch landed, as usual. Can't wait till Eastman fights again so I can hear all about "Willie Yoppy not too long ago"

The worst part was when Audley put jules down in the last round and jim said:

'That was a beautiful right hand'...

cue slow motion replay of audley delivering his SOUTHPAW LEFT...

what an idiot.

Like I've already said I still have hopes for Audley Harrison but the respective performances against Francis of himself and an old comebacking Oleg Maskaev don't look very good on Harrisons record.

Who was that woman who sat down next to Audley on the ring apron for his post fight interview?

Did anyone else notice her right tit hanging out as she tried to get into position? :o

The only thing that surpassed for awfulness the beebs presentation and ha! 'commentary' of the ha! 'fight' last night was Audelys own performance.... I didn't expect much from Francis as he's now just a survivor, but Harrison actually struggled at times and seemed uncomfortable on the few times (very few indeed!) that Francis threw punches at him. Audely is definately worried about taking shots.... doesn't like to be under any kind of pressure..... I'd pick Seldon to beat him. No way is he world class even with the current miserable lack of talent around.
Forget ordinary, Audley is just plain awful!... 8) 8) 8)

If that had been a young Bruno in there last night against Francis, having his 16th fight, he would have won it in 1 or 2 rounds!........

Absolutely dire...

I was at a house party with my girlfriend and a few mates and I actually managed to persuade them (they aren't boxing fans) to stick on the TV for a bit so we could watch it.

Suffice to say Harrison's "performance" has probably put them off watching boxing for life, and left me somewhat embarassed for suggesting pre-fight that it should be quite entertaining.

How Harrison can have performed so poorly, in contrast his previous fight is beyond me. I have to now agree with a comment above that Audley is going no where fast....

He should have blitzed Francis inside of 4 or 5 rounds ... the guy is joke.

If allegedly gets an Audley Harrison fight on Sky, I'll be pissed off with the guy (again). All he's done is put Audley Harrison down. (Sometimes rightly, mostly not.) Then as soon as he starts talking about titles, allegedly wants him fighting on his channel.

Just think, if Audley were to sign for Warren he could hold both the WBF and WBU belts simultaneously.

Audley was very dissapointing, I can understand wanting to test your stamina but you have to make a statement knocking out the likes of Julius Francis as all remotely world class fighters have done.

Audley was very dissapointing.

He says he's a year away from world class. - Bollocks, the division is bad, but not that bad.

Harrison cant punch and has no confidence in his chin. His jab is terrible and is a pawing punch with nothing on it.

Skelton would stop him, so would Williams.

Audley will never be world class.

A little bit I think, as I said on another post I'm sure Julius put in more against Skelton and Harrison than he did against Maskaev in Moscow but that is still no excuse, Harrison's performance was poor.
