Danny mullered him...and Rahman had him totally discombobulated NO EXCUSES
one punch from the Hayemaker and Kali's going down.....or up...... which ever way it is with u antipodeans ?
thanks for the post. However, I'm not quite sure of the point you are trying to make.user name wrote:I most strongly agree with the newby Kali is the first number 1 rated Heavy in a very long time but gets NO respect because most of you havent been around long enough to see him in his prime
always good to see your humourist posts here Teddybear. Next you can have a go at mundine...go on i dares ya. :Pteddy007 wrote:Danny Williams destroyed that bum meehan, Haye would do the same.
Need I remind you that Danny Williams knocked him down once in about 20 seconds? And then when Kali got up, he was immediately knocked down again? That means in about 30 total seconds of boxing, he has half the knockdown tally that Haye has amassed in 22 fights.toppity wrote:good point buster. looking at his record okhello is the only KD for Kali, who he KOed later in the fight, Okhello is a tough SOB, no question.
When did that have anything to do with you?funso banjo baby wrote:sanity will prevail
If Williamson has such a suspect chin, how is it that apart from an early prelim fight Mesi was the only heavy to KO him before Meehan? Also, since when has 6'4" and 220lbs small?oliverfennell wrote:Need I remind you that Danny Williams knocked him down once in about 20 seconds? Now, I'm not a Kali hater. He's good to watch and I've nothing against him. But he has ONE fringe world level win (Williamson), and as undeniably impressive as the KO was, it was against a guy in his late 30s who has a known weak chin and is on the small side for a heavyweight.
No, the Williams fight was seven years ago. And yes, in this day and age 220lb IS small for a heavyweight. And yes, Williamson is known for not being able to take a shot.Brute wrote:If Williamson has such a suspect chin, how is it that apart from an early prelim fight Mesi was the only heavy to KO him before Meehan? The Williams fight was 12 years ago. You and Funbags both live in the past.
Fair comment, but people act like heavyweight boxing is a different sport sometimes. IMO beating MORMECK, Maccarinelli, even Gurov and Fragomeni, proves more than Meehan has, even allowing for the difference in weight.ben k wrote:And when has Haye proved he is more than just fringe world class, He hasnt proved a thing at heavyweight and beating Maccrinelli dosnt prove shit. Morcormeck is his best win and even then he isnt anything special. If Haye starts winning big fights at HEAVYWEIGHT then i will believe the hype. At the moment he is 50/50 in my book with the 10-30 ranked heavyweights at best. Never mind the top 10's
No, I don't underestimate it, but I also think some people OVERestimate weight differences. For example, Chris Byrd did all right, despite routinely giving away 30-60lb.Marlin wrote:Moving from Cruiser to Heavy is very different from moving from middle to super middle. We're not talking about a jump of 8lbs, we are talking about a jump of 30lbs+ lbs even up to 120lbs in some cases... I wouldn't underestimate the weight difference...
Although Haye is a superior boxer, i liken it a little to another pom, Herbie Hide. He was gong swimmingly untill he started meeting true heavyweights. only time will tell though.oliverfennell wrote:No, I don't underestimate it, but I also think some people OVERestimate weight differences. True enough, not too many cruisers have made the leap successfully, so judgement should be reserved on Haye, but I think his shape and style should translate to greater achievements than, for example, Al Cole, Orlin Norris, Kelvin Davis, etc.

Ben to say that Kali is better than Thompson is utterly ludicrous IMO. Thompson beat some very good fighters in his career and was a very, very cagey fighter. Haye V Meehan? I've seen them both fight live and Haye would absolutely walk it IMO

Until Haye beats legit heavyweights it is all just Hype Monty, He looks great beating up Cruisers but what happens when a legit Heavyweight lands on his chin.
