McDonagh vs Macklin, who wins?

Who do you think would win this battle of the light-middleweight prospects?

Will Macklin ever get over the fact that he lost to someone by the name of Smiley Facey?

That sure could affect a guy psychologically dont you think?

Or do you think Thomas McDonagh will be forced to change his name to Thomas McDoughnut after Macklin punches holes through him?

This is a fascinating fight

SKY say Macklin is the british version of The Golden boy Oscar de la Hoya, they shoulda learned that silence is golden, & kept their big biased mouths shut!

Talk about putting pressure on a young talent...

McDonagh on the other hand has been compared to Jim Carrey by SKY, sorta gives away who they like more Im sure youll agree!

Thomas also KO'd a guy by the name of Bobby Bangher, a guy who struck fear into the hearts of grown men, especially those who shared a cell with him!

so he deserves respect for that

So who wins? McCoy thinks McDonagh would win on points

Macklin is nothing like DLH because he hasn't got the speed.

I think that McDonagh's got a lot more than he showed on thursday. For 6 rounds of the Pryce fight he looked excellent. Every now and again he threw some beautiful combinations, and managed to land with some decent looking body shots. If he was to plant his feet a bit more instead of punching while on the move he might have been able keep Pryce off him later on. IMO, the raw materials for a decent fighter are there.
The problems are mental, he just seemed to lose the plot and it almost cost him. He has the ability to outbox Macklin, but i can't see him keeping a decent level of concentration for 12 rounds. I'll pick Macklin.

Yeah, I tip Macklin aswell. Thomas doesn't hit hard enough, I think Macklin is the big puncher and probably better than Pryce at Light Middle, and Pryce looked at times better than McDonagh.

Macklin by late stoppage or points.

Good fight though.

McDonagh's showboating is ridiculous and I don't trust him mentally. I think as he steps up (and after 26 fights unbeaten, they'll have to step him up soon) his mental strength will be exposed. He seemed to be borderline bottling it in the final rounds with Pryce. Harsh words I know, but this guy needs a good kick up the arse and I don't know if Brian Hughes is the man to do it. Brian is everyone's favourite uncle.
McDonagh is not particularly talented, or flash, or charismatic, so when he showboats, just looks like a prat. He's one of those fighters who you expect to knuckle down in a fight and get on with the job. He showed humility and class in allowing Bradley Pryce to have his say after the fight. If only he could translate that to the ring.
