Hopefully EBF can get licensed, so these fights can count on boxrec.
Unlikely that the BBF, the EBF or any of the other 'self regulated' promoters would want to be licensed. For anyone interested Cliff Couser will be fighting (4 rounds) in Yeovil, Somerset on the 27th November at the Westland Leisure Complex, tickets are currently £35 ringside / £25 outer ringside / £20 unreserved (prices increase by £10 after 21st November) Call 01935 848380 for tickets.
Regarding pulling out of the Mike Perez fight Cliff said “I am 100% confident I would have taught Perez a boxing lesson - they see my record and they think I am an easy win, but I've knocked out James Tillis, Jorge Luis Gonzalez and more recently Monte Barrett who is about to give David Haye his biggest test to date no less – I punch hard – give me an opportunity and I'll put you on your ass - a young guy like Perez with only 4 or 5 fights would have given me lots of opportunities! I wish him the best though, I watched him on YouTube and he looks a good talent”.
and of his trip to England,
"I can't wait to get to England, I am going to break some bones. I don't care who gets put in front of me - it's time for me to get back to my destructive winning ways, and that is going to happen in England on November 27th"
"I've worked my ass off through the years, alot of people will know me from the internet forums where I look for fights, I'll literally fight anyone, anywhere, anytime - and I don't think I've ever been in a boring fight. I'm calling this UK trip a fresh start"
I realise most of you aren't interested in BBF / EBF boxing - but for the few that are, Cliff looks forward to meeting you at the show.

should be no more than £10 ticket
Fair comment, most of the boxing that goes on round here is £25 - £35 ticket which generally gets you into a small hall show with boxers that are barely in the top 500 and have no decent wins. I think Cliff warrants a similar price and in all fairness the £25 - £20 tickets are almost as good because the venue is quite small.
In terms of the level of boxing, we are only using experienced boxers, no circus style fights! I am not a fan of some of these shows where there is zero skill and the boxers have had almost zero training.

Notice I didn't highlight the word "experienced", you idiot !!!
And as for the training, well, if training for a fight leads you to weigh over 400lb, then I'll happily retract my jibe.
Bean IS a circus attraction, he knows that. His career was completely manufactured, and he has done very well to keep it going for so long, moving in and out of other contact sports has proven to be very successful, and he can command £15k per fight or there abouts. I am sure when he was at his lightest (300-350lbs) he was staying moderately busy in the gym, but he was never training hard - with the people he was being fed he didn't need to train hard. At the weight he is now I think it is safe to say he isn't training at all.
But he is a guaranteed ticket seller, that is a fact - I don't think anybody on the inside expected him to be beaten so easily by Potter, who is in the shape of his life right now. By all accounts Bean was sick all day and was struggling to breath - a condition that wasn't directly linked to his weight. It is also worth saying that when he was being touted as the 'King of the 4 Rounders' his opponents were being hand picked to make him look spectacular, now he'll fight anyone for a payday.
I think given the right opponent Bean could still be an entertaining watch but I, like everybody else have no interest in watching a man (anyman) get seriously hurt, and I certainly wont set up such a fight.
Yep, that would be 27th November, Westland Leisure Complex, Yeovil, Somerset. Cliff Couser vs Mike English, British Boxing Federation show, tickets (currently) £20/£25/£35, Tel: 01935 848380
