"American TV Network Showtime have agreed to an autumn spectacular involving Hatton in a mouthwatering clash either against Paul Spadafora or the WBA World Light-Welterweight Champion Vivian Harris."
Get the feeling Hatton's opponent on June 12 is going to be naff if they're already building up his next fight?

I think they've got a fornicating cheek charging 30 quid for the upper tier seats, you can't see fornicate all. Me and me mates went the Tackie fight and are seats were 2 rows from the back! From where we were sitting it looked like a close fight :o

Definitely. Tired old tactics from Warren there. No way will they go for Harris either, he's a sharp puncher and too dangerous for Frankie's boy.
Spaddy fits the bill: he can't crack an egg.
Might be doing some serious time by then though?

So knockout artist called it right - a no show on June 5th.

No excuse for this. They had a few months to sort this out. I just don't believe that all the top guys price themselves out or don't want to fight Hatton. Rickys a good payday for many of these guys.

Cotto fighting Lovemore this early really puts Hatton to shame. Lovemores better than I thought, I didn't expect him to stand up to Cotto's punches.

Ricky is not a prospect anymore so enough if this "im still learning" and "theirs plenty of time". Pressure fighters like Ricky don't have long careers (Duran the big exception). By the time they are 28 they have taken lots of punishment and can't keep going like they used too. Ricky is in his prime right now and he's wasting it fighting nobodys.

Theirs no going back for Cotto now. He won't go back and fight lower level guys now that he's stepped up. I can't imagine him fighting the guys Rickys fighting in his 35th fight like Rickys doing. They have confidence in their man and take chances. I don't think we can say the same about FW with Ricky.

Oh I am pissed off!!! I have made plans for the 12th bearing in mind the fights on the 5th!!! I confirmed them today!

At least I was only planning to wacth on TV, would be worse if I had tickets.

Guess I will have to pick up the replays on the sunday. Still feeling like I have been really messed around, it is not like they did not have enough notice.

I'm gutted for all the fans like the poster above who has to change plans and fork out extra £ just because they can't find anyone cheap or foreign enough to fit the bill for next month.

Cheers Shakermaker, it's always a risk booking for events, even more so when your across the water from them.

I know these things can happen with injury, but the way this has been done is unreal. Feeling is Hatton is not even interested in the date and having what should be a good card messed about like this is not very professional.

I'm happy with the Calzaghe fight and its a good one. Hatton really should have an idea by now who hes facing and even more so with it having the makings of a good show with Calzaghe as well. I have wanted to sample the Hatton atmosphere for a while and with Calzaghe on, I thought it was a good time to go. Im trying my best not to let it take the sting out of it all and as much as Id love it to be a big name, at this stage Id settle to see Hatton in a good workout with rounds and to be able to believe its all on.

At least Magee Vs Reid is on my doorstep, so any mess ups there it won't cost me another £80

Frank W says in the news of the world that it will be Vivien Harries in September and probably the winner of Tszyu vs Mitchell after that.

I'm not the happy that Hatton won't be fighting a threat in June, but I would be delighted if the first paragraph comes true. If its already secure (the Harries fight) then I don't blame Hatton/FW not really risking it in June. Its good buisness and boxing sense.

Good old Frankie, always having a laugh! :D :D

So it's Harris in September now is it. I suppose he'll be coming to the ring on a flying pig, with Osama Bin Laden as his chief second?

Harris in September? Yeah right, just like Sharmba Mitchell was a big possiblity for June. Utter bullshit. This is just so people are satisfied with Hattons next opponent. People will say "aw well, at least its a big fight next" and not be that disapointed. Until the Harris fight gets called off of course because of claims that Harris wanted massive money or is afraid of Ricky. Cotto puts Ricky to shame with his last fight.

You will prob find that it was I the GURU who stated HATTON would not be fighting on the first date proposed. After finding out he is 18LBS overweight after being on the piss for 2 weeks solid. So much for the idea of giving up the BOOZE a few fights back.Looks like its not only FRANK who is taking the PISS seems Ricky is too
