Let me know when you are having your next show and I will try to get my daughter and son-in-law to help publicize it. Getting the word out is very important. If you get a lot of people to come to the show, you will gain more supporters and probably get a few new faces in your gym.

JMac,
Holy Cow, the world just got even smaller! Zack has said his future plans involve the Navy as well... the coaches are impressed with Zack, calling him "a natural".... JMac, looks like in a couple of years, you will have the Fighting Tenorios under your wing...
Dennis,
This Saturday, 25OCT, is our next local tournament at the Dededo Sports Complex... I should be manning the door so please tell your daughter and her family to come out and support our program... If we could get word out to the military folks, i'm sure participation would increase... After that, 06DEC, we are having an invitational tournament featuring boxers from the Philippines vs our local boxers... my daughter is representing our gym/island, i hope they are able to bring someone in for her to box... Its been a logistical nightmare thus far, but if everything comes together 06DEC will be the biggest amateur event in recent local history...
Mel,
Notice i didnt use the world "fight" even one time... :0

Hey! That was a sarcastic remark for Don, whom I've known on the internet for many years prior to his stumbling into this forum.
Re: Female amateur boxing in the Pacific/Asian region
Hurt business? No not yet, we are in the hurt sport! It becomes a business at the pro level. Oh yeah, I'm involved in that too. I teach my boxers how to throw punches to "hurt" someone. So they will have an effect. Hit him with a left hook to the liver. OUCH, that hurts.

Yep, even after all these years, Mel continues to school me...

Re: Female amateur boxing in the Pacific/Asian region
Great article. Good luck with your shows/tournaments. I have forwarded the info to my daughter & son-in-law to help spread the word.
Re: Female amateur boxing in the Pacific/Asian region
donrock - what time is the show this Saturday? How much are the tickets? Any other info that will help get people to attend?
Re: Female amateur boxing in the Pacific/Asian region
Dennis,
Doors open at 1730... Tickets are 5 bucks, kids under 12 years 3 bucks... As far as other info that might get others to attend: we could lie and say Evander Holyfield will be doing an exhibition...
DD I do love the Real Deal...

Re: Female amateur boxing in the Pacific/Asian region
So if doors open at 5:30 my guess is the show starts at 6 pm. Is that correct? I have passed the info on, but it is probably too late to help much with this show. Keep me informed of your next one and I will try to see if everyone on the AFB will at least know about it. Maybe you will pick up a bunch of fans.
