Meehan v Haye
Re: Meehan v Haye
I don't see any reason Meehan would take this fight, he's got his ranking and will get his title shot eventually - he doesn't need any sort of risk now.
Having said that if they did get in the ring I dont see it going the distance - either Hayes speed will allow him to land at will and he'd wear Kali down (I'm not sold on Hayes power as a heavy till I see it), or we find out that he can't hurt Meehan and he gets KTFO.
I'm excited about what Haye has the potential to bring to the heavyweight division, but it's not a done deal yet.

Both of Meehan's KO losses were stopped by the referee. He has never been counted out.
Lennox Lewis was counted out against Rahman. Did he have hollow bones?

Just come across this thread by mistake
D
So G'day
Anyway I'm a fan of Haye but I'm skeptical of what he can really do at heavyweight as he's yet to show what he can do(forget his 'fight' with polish clubfighter Tommy Boner or whatever) but I'm not certain that Haye has a poor chin, he was floored by temple punches by Mock and Mormeck, and it was stamina problems which led to his collapse against Thompson rather than getting sparked out.
Still it'll be interesting to see if he has the punch resistance at heavyweight 8)

Ok first of all I never said he was a test, although I do believe most people would be happy with a cruiser that's moving up to heavy taking Kali as his first real fight.
And secondly I was trying to make the point that Kali would never take this fight right now - he doesn't need risk, he needs to stay in shape, maybe get in with a tomato can while he waits for that mandatory - not fight a guy that' an unknown quantity.
Re: Meehan v Haye
Kali has put out an open challenge to any ranked heavyweight. He is not ducking anybody.
