Audley Harrison definitely in line for Skelton...
Audley Harrison definitely in line for Skelton...
Matt Skelton makes quick first defence of his Commonwealth heavyweight title against an unnamed challenger on June 5 at York Hall.
Skelton's British heavyweight won't be on the line, which clearly suggests negotiations are still taking place for Matt to defend that title against Audley Harrison.

James what do you see happening in a fight between Audley and Skelton? How do you envisage the contest developing as the rounds pass? Is Skelton going to be troubled by Harrisons punches resulting in him backing off? Or is Audley just going to absorb the initial pressure and out work the champion over the second half?
C'mon old boy look into your crystal ball for me.

James thought Harrison would stop Francis inside four rounds.Kilburn wrote:James what do you see happening in a fight between Audley and Skelton? Audley doesn't like it when fighters back him up and when he gets hit he practically tells the world he has been hit flush because he starts limbo dancing and poking his tongue out like an idiot. Francis had so much time to work on the inside it was untrue, only because he was so old and pacing himself for the distance did he fail to capitilise. Someone like Skelton enjoys in fighting and backing men up which leads me to believe he will cause Harrison too many problems.
You make it sound as if Fraudley is the next great sensation. We all saw how shit Fraudley really was against Francis.jameswilson wrote:Id love it if it was Friday Ahunya (spelling) the guy spars with Audley and would probably beat crap out of Skelton, will Warren risk Skelton with him tho, will he f4ck. What chance Henry Akiwande tho.
I'm sick to f**k of you bangin on Fraudleys drum & slating everyone else.At least Skelton holds proper titles ,wtf is WBF & Skelton's done it quicker. When is Fraudley going to step it up?
BTW,Im not even a Skelton fan,I just see things as they are!
From the BBC
British champion Matt Skelton will not face Audley Harrison in his next fight.
Olympic gold medallist Harrison had begun negotiations with Skelton's promoter allegedly regarding a fight on 19 June.
But it has been announced Skelton will defend his Commonwealth belt at Bethnal Green on 5 June against an opponent yet to be named.
Harrison is still confident of appearing on 19 June in a fight to be televised by the BBC.
I will be shocked if this fight happens this year to be honest.

Prepare to be amazed HH. 8)
Audley is more skillful than Sprott but he's no more dangerous because his workrate is shit.
To have any chance of dispatching Skelton Audley would have to put a serious amount of punches together which just aint happening, not in an inescapably grueling 12 round fight. The only one getting dispatched here is big Audley!

Really the BBBoC should nominate either Danny Williams or Keith Long as the mandatory. The case for Long is that he was supposed to be involved in an intriuging eliminator with Sprott that never materialised due to geniune injury. Sprott got awarded the mandatory and the rest his history.
The case for Williams is that his last fight with Sprott ended in controversy and many experts believe he still should be British champion anyway.
I would like to see Long in a challenge, I would like to see Williams refuse it and move on.
