So why do I have a June 16, 1929 United Press newspaper account that says, DATELINE Paris, June 15:
"(Headline) CARPENTIER OUT AS CHAMPION OF FRANCE - Having failed to defend his 'all categories' title against Marcel Nilies before June 8, as ordered by the French Boxing Federation, Georges Carpentier forfeited his title today. It will be filled after a series of elimination contests."
Did it take the Commission a year or two to arrive at this decision?</Font>
