OT: this Russell Brand / Jonathon Woss thing

Post by Mensa07 »

I read the transcript, didn't find it particularly amusing. I think the whole thing is mean. Like 2 bullys or something picking on an easy target.

If any of my grandfolk were still knocking about, and these 2 c0cks were leaving obscene messages on their answerphones, especially messages like they did to Manuel (about his grand-daughter!), I'd take a bat to the two of them. Providing I could get close enough that is. with a bat in my hand. well, you know what I mean, it'd f*ck you off anyway.

Any thoughts?

Yeah, they both deserve a slap. Not just because of this - because they are a pair of kents.

Loads of people were ringing up Radio 5 giving different opinions and if I could have been arsed, my point would have been 'I don't object to them being paid this much and acting lewdly. I object (in the case of Ross) being paid so much because he's sh1t.'

He used to be good but is now shot to bits as an interviewer. He either fawns embarrassingly or is needlessly vulgar.

Some on here might know I take a particular interest in defamation/libel (mainly because I've had to 8) ). Wossy is so sensitive over criticism of him ripping off the licence fee payer with his exorbitant salary that he's reportedly had his lawyers, Carter Ruck, send a few 'cease and desist' letters out to people who have simply given a fair opinion - no libel whatsoever, w*nker, so shut the feck up.

I actually wish any of my grandparents were still alive on the outside chance of Brand/Woss insulting them so I could give the pair of them a flying headbutt. Each, of course.

I agree it wasn't funny.

Hopefully they'll get severely punished for it but I somehow doubt it.

Exactly. Who really gives a f**k. The bigger question is why did this women sleep with Rusell Brand in the first place. He's an ugly streak of piss and she must have known he's a slapper as well. Yet she's shocked when he brags about it on a radio show interview and leaves a messages on her grandad's answerphone.

F**king twat!

I agree that it wasn't funny and was Bullyish against a senior citizen, but for this to be on the front pages and a headline news story is ridiculous.

I don't particularly dislike Brand, but I'd love to go 6 3 minute rounds with Wossy (I'm a pacifist who'd be giving away about 4 stone) the overpaid annoying cuntt

Too right - would love to see them take a beating in the celebrity boxing for sport relief! Anyone got any ideas for some decent matchups? Eubank and Benn have got a little bit of reality tv on their cv's - maybe that qualifies them :box:

Russell Brand in particular comes across as a nasty piece of work to me, and Jonathan Ross is fairly obnoxious too. The whole thing was quite sick and I hope they both get banned from the BBC.

Having said all that, Manuel's granddaughter looks a bit tasty though............................

They probably deserve a slap, it isn't his fault that his grandaughter is a brass
However the more likely scenario is that the BBC will get fined, therefore the taxpayer will pay for it.

All in pretty poor taste, and not even with the decency of being amusing.

Cannot see how the public service remit is served by two overgrown teenagers making lewd remarks about a septugenarian former comic actor's granddaughter.

I don't know what was going through their minds, Ross should know better, he's been a mainstay of primetime TV for long enough to know where to draw the line - as for Brand, he's clearly a self-obsessive twat who knows no better.

Georgina Baillie is with a burlesque troupe called 'the satanic sluts' she doesn't call herself that. And that is a performance name, that hardly makes it ok for what they did.

The granddaughter hasn't commented yet due to her selling the story to a tabloid, so I imagine she will come up with a few slutty stories and topless shots herself

Woss is a tosser, has been for years.

Brand is not worth bothering with.

2 Cupid Stunts who need a good kick.

Just too much publicity given to these 2 arse bandits.

I expect nothing less from these 2 tossers.

I actually disagree with you, I think Ross interviews are excellent , his irreverent style is infinitely more entertaining than the multitude of dire product placement interviews we are usuaully treated to. He also does ask some pertinent questions of his guests on occasion, and some probing ones too.

Ross is a very articulate and charming host, and if you watch his film programme(s), you get to see the best of him.

You have to accept Ian, that the days of the Parky Style interview are over, in large part they don't work because the public already know too much about the interview subjects, due to the proliferation of gossip magazines and other drear publications, and the fact that people are such media whores these days.

It used to be a real coup when Parkinson would get some big hollywood star like Gregory Peck over, because british audiences knew so little about the real person behind the icon, but that kind of interview would fall flat on it's arse today, because all the big stars are far too accessible.

Ross' style of interview suits this era, and I would challenge you to find another superior interviewer in this country who covers the entertainment industry.

Does occur to me that one of two things has happened here.

1 Brand got word of her flogging her story to the papers via his agent, and so decideed to make a pre-emptive strike.

2 The whole thing is a publicity stunt wherby he agreed to make the lewd comments to boost her profile after she noshed him off.

It's amazing what people can get their knickers in a twist about.

People get madder about Woss and Bwand acting like tossers than they do about the actions of Robert Mugabe, the scandalous un-preparedness of Britain for a biological terrorist attack, or the Bank of England's misguided inflation targeting monetary policy which stretched out for too long cheap money, only to tighten to fight against inflation when deflation was the real enemy.

But now Rodney Marsh making a tasteless joke about the tsunami, a royal having an affair, or the shadow chencellor taking money of Oleg Deripaska is faaaaarr more important.

The world is heading for depression, for heaven’s sake.

I think its actually time to rise against every over-paid celeb (including shitty members of parliament). Lower their wages, that's what makes people angry. The fact that they can do what they like, and get away with it.
Who would lower their wages? Yes! I have it! A politburo that would set everybody's wages the same.

Try this: if you don't vote for them, they have to leave parliament. If you don't listen to them, they will have to find another radio station.

But I wonder what the ratings will be like for Woss next week, if he's not sacked by then?

He talks more than they do, how is that good interviewing?

They are both unfunny and this was a fornicating disgrace. Ross used to be good, then he got given a load of cash and went up his own arse.

Is Jay Leno any good? He's well known, but i haven't seen any of his shows.
I saw him interviewing some of the presidential candidates during the primaries, and he was dump. He's nowhere near as sharp as Letterman, and gave all of them an easy ride to just say what they wanted to say.

I like Letterman, he's smart, but I do wish he'd spend a little less time on the funnies and a little more time on what he's really good at, which is interviewing.

rod marsh got the book thrown at him for his 'toon-army' gag.... and ron atkinson has remained submerged since his racist outburst with the microphone still on when he thought it was off...

i feel that this outburst from ross and brand is far worse than eith offence....they should be sacked. they are both rich already, so it will not ruin their lives. but lets hope the public rebel against them in jade baddy style !!!!!!!
