The bouts were shown live last night on AIBA's homepage: http://www.aiba.org. I don't know if they have the videos available for replay.

With Joey winning, the USA will have a top 10 finish as a team. If he wins tonight, the team could finish somewhere in the 5-7 spot. If he doesn't, then USA will probably be 8-10. The kid looked good with tight defense and used his feet. His opponent tonight isn't that much taller than him, so Joey could have a decent chance of winning.

Joey is boxing the German Erik Brechlin.

Our local club shows draw bigger crowds than this tournament. AIBA should be ashamed of itself. They have to start doing a better job of marketing the sport internationally. That might not be their reason for being, but they better start or there won't be a reason for their existence. With the World's best 17 & 18 year old boxers, they should have been able to get at least a few thousand people in the arena for the semi-finals. From the video shots, it would seem they were lucky if they had a 100 fans.

Is anybody else watching the fights? The Kazak fighter just got completly robbed against an Irish guy who seemed afraid to throw a single punch(the ref had to instruct him to fight), the entire crowd was booing and when the Irishmen went to shake hands with the Kazak coach the coach fingered him.
Also after Valdez beat the Russian by a ridiclous score of 12-0 the Russian was shaking his head and made some sort of gesture with his arms to the crowd and got boo'd very loudly.
Crazy stuff

Dawejko won 9-1. He outclassed the German and made him look ridoclous. For a big guy he is fast on his feet.

Joey Dawejko just won. He defeated the German 9-1. Great job Joey. Your grandpa should be very happy as he guided you to a World U-19 Gold Medal. That is amazing. You both deserve it. Way to represent the USA!!!

I'm back after the finals. The irish victory at 60 kg was a disgrace. It was the worst i´ve ever seen in boxing I believe. He´s won with that boxing all his bouts. The kazakhs filed a protest but it was rejected. Also Oscar Molina shouldn´t have won and the scoring in his bouts and Oscar Valdez´bouts are just ridiculous. The best boxer in my opinion was puerto rican Jonathan Gonzalez. Great showing by the cubans with 4 gold. Light heavy Jose Larduet stopped all his opponents inside two rounds. Good performance by the US boxers in general and Dawejko was a worthy winner.
