Spits Notwork really are a joke of an organisation. Thankfully they can always find enough dimwits to fill up the MEN time and time again...

Mesquita is nowhere in the world rankings. Even the WBO don't rank him. How bad is that!!

If we can help put an end to this it will be good for British boxing. :TU:

Its not just us who aren't impressed, the US posters on other sites are not amused either. I thought they would have been relieved (as they are not seeing it).

Dissapointed obviously, but still prepared to wait untill January the 1st. At least Mosquito is not a Lightweight.

No, that comes next - when Ricky gets his Big Test against lightweight Spaddy.

he has fought more or less as a lightweight on quite a few occasions.

Another daft Hatton fight which, while increasing bank balances, is certain to contribute to the physical decline that has already begun IMO.

This time next year I wouldn't be surprised to see Ricky looking shot to shit, just when he needs his best form to survive with the top boys.

I have checked, and I think your statement is inaccurate. He's fought at over the 10 stone mark recently.

I am surprised anyone 'surprised' !

They are just milking Hatton's fans for all they can and they are too caught up in the drink and rubbish to notice.

Hatton could fight a superbantam and they would turn out.

Hope this guy knocks out hatton... He won't !

Too many fights are just exhibitions for the home fighter.

At a time when Cotto is learning some hard lessons againts the likes of N'dou, Hatton appears to be taking retrograde steps, after the peak of Tackie this will be two fights in a row against overmatched opponents.

I know that matchmaking is not always easy, but with the best will in the world I find it very hard to find justification for this matchup. I will take it all back if Hatton's next opponent is decent, but until I hear that they have lined up a fight against someone decent, I am not impressed.

Even Spadafora isn't really the full ticket in my opinion, he should have lost to Dorin, and was a powder-puff puncher even at lightweight, so will present no offensive threat at light welterweight.

We've been citing Mesquita as his opponent for weeks, DG., so it's no surprise. Just another disappointment.

I have checked, and I think your statement is inaccurate. He's fought at over the 10 stone mark recently.
on 7 occasions he has boxed at 136lbs, 1lb over the lightweight limit.
these weights will also be same day weights. No British lightweight would ever weigh in below 136lbs on the day of the fight.

Granted he has put on a bit of weight and will weigh in the day before at 10stone but on the day he will be approx 142/143 lbs and Hatton will be AT LEAST 11 stone,

meaning Mesquita will get blasted away because he is fighting a much heavier man. It will be a one sided beating and will not be nice to watch.

The poor Brazillian will probably be getting 20 - 30 thousand pounds and will feel he has won the lottery with that.

Compare this with the 1 million pounds Hatton will be getting and I think is puts it all into prospective.

Maybe its Hattons wallet that is adding all that extra weight.

Why would he need any form to survive with the top boys? He's never going to go anywhere near them.
