2006 National Golden Gloves (Need Help)
Re: 2006 National Golden Gloves (Need Help)
There was a company that sold DVD's of the championship bouts. I will have to look up the name for you.
The better question is how about the semi-finals. I have never seen the video coverage of those bouts and there were TV cameras recording the bouts as they too were held in the Quest Arena in Omaha just like the finals.

The company is EM See squared Studios. (spelled that way except the squared uses the superscript 2 - I don't know how to make that symbol in boxrec).
Their address is:
PO Box 2916
Kings Beach, CA 96143
Their contact names are Matthew Lund and Erin Miller and phone numbers are 240-643-9506 and 530-546-8884. They had a website of www.emsee2.com, but it doesn't appear to be a valid URL anymore.
Good luck.

Re: 2006 National Golden Gloves (Need Help)
Thanks Dennis, I'll try and see if I can get it. I live close to Omaha and loved the fact they hosted the 2006 GG and the new Quest Arena was really nice. I just remember the upstairs they had the TV's and you could see all the fights so I knew they had a tapeing somewhere. I'll see if I can get it and keep trying.
As for the semi's - they were just as good as the finals. Joell Godfrey and Eric Fields was the match I wanted to see from the begining and turned out for Fields, the HW Hunter had a nice TKO (RET), hometown boy Crawford barely pulled out the 'W' and Franklin and Steven's fight at 112 lb was a war. I just asked for the finals cause I was sure they had a tape somewhere.

The semis were taped too, but I was never able to find out how to get a copy. The semis also included my son Jordan defeating Paul Koon.
Re: 2006 National Golden Gloves (Need Help)
That's right, he did beat Paul Koon. For some reason I thought he beat somebody else. Koon was 20 I believe when that fight happened, wasn't that your sons first open tournament? Wasn't he 17 or was he 18?
Re: 2006 National Golden Gloves (Need Help)
Jordan was 17 and it was his first National Golden Gloves tournament. I was hoping that they might box again this year. They were on opposite sides of the bracket in the semi-finals. Paul defeated Jeremiah Graziano in his semi-final bout; however, Jordan lost a 3-2 decision to Craig Lewis in his semi-final bout. Paul then went on to the finals and also lost a 3-2 decision to Craig Lewis.
