Forgotten fighters: Nino Benvenutti

Some fighters are very forgotten through the years. This great Italian fighter was a great champion but forgotten as soon as the great Carlos Monzon became world champion.
Why is it that this all time great at 154 and 160 pounds is forgotten?

He won his first 65 fights. He won the World Jr. Middleweight Title and also was a two-time World Middleweight Champion defeating the great Emile Griffith, and still looks like he does not get lots of respect.

He remind me of Ken Buchanan. Since the great Roberto Duran beat him, he was like forgotten after that. But at least, he is getting more recognition than Benvenutti lately.

Didn't he win the prize of best Olympian at the same games Cassius Clay fought at?

If not for an absolutely horrific decision loss to Ki Soo Kim (Benvenuti was on the verge of a stoppage win, when they decided to fix a ring rope) than Benvenuti would have won his first 73 pro fights ! Not many guys have been that consistent.

Benvenuti was awesome in clinches-he rarely gets credit for that.
