Next champ to run out of gas? .

Post by DOG »

Lewis has gone...Now Jones' star has been dimmed somewhat; who do you feel could be the next champ to be dethroned in a shock? And by champ I mean real champ...not WBollx

Hopkins who is pushing 40
Mayweather ..One weight too far?
Morales?
Tszyu (if he fights again)

These are the worldwide recognised "superstars" of the sport we follow.
If one or more of them were to be deposed, who are the new generation who will be the new standard bearers?
Cotto Bojado, Taylor, Spinks, Judah?

I think it will be Kostya Tszyu - I just don't know how he can come back against decent comp in his mid 30's and hasn't fought for over a year.

Hopkins has to fall apart soon at his age. Christ, even a monk would start to fall apart at his age.

Hop ain't ready to go yet. His performance against 'Yoppy' was a thing of beauty.

NARD NUMERO UNO P4P :TU:

I think out of the 3 it could be mayweather Im not sure he carries enough power at light welter, though his skills are undoutedly slick and in abundance, just not sure bout the rapid rise through the weights.

Theres a lot of talent in pretty boy but I reckon there's also a huge bubble waiting to burst as he moves up to 140.

Hopkins is old enough to lose but looks like teak. No weakness there so far.

Morales could lose because he likes to fight too much but even if he does I think he will just bounce back. He does his talking in the ring so doesnt live off the hype that an RJJ or a PBF does. Thats when a defeat can be career fatal. Look at Naz.

Archie Moore wasn't running out of Gas in his 40's, wanna know why, he was always fighting and therefore always fit.

Hopkins is never ever out of the gym, he is fitter than DLH is by a long way, DLH always looks a little pudgy and soft to me, like he doesn't really relish the hard graft in the gym. Still, next to me, he'd look like fornicating Adonis, who the fornicate am I kidding.

Was it only last year Roy Jones licked John Ruiz! The fall can be quick.

The only way Floyd is gonna lose in the near future, is if he steps up too high in weight. (Which even then is doubtful, because Sweet Pea did it and the two are alike).

Tszyu is ready to be taken, and the next decent fighter to face him, will take him imo.
