HOLY CRAP -- AMAZING JOE FRAZIER DOC ON MORE4

Post by overhand_right »

Saw the ad this morning on 4 -- new footage of old Smokin Joe spilling his guts on Ali and his current condition, amazing shots of him as he is today all alone in his infamous Philly gym, lots of great archive of the build up to the Thrilla.

Tuesday at 2200 on More 4.

Should be good, the True Stories series by 4 are always excellent. Makes me want to pick up Ghosts of Manilla and read it again.

Oh come on guys.

Anyone taking pleasure in Ali's condition or taking something as pitiful as Ghosts of Manilla (Mark Kram what a joke) seriously, needs help.

I love Joe and i appreciate Ali hurt his feelings but f##k me we've seen far worse. These were fiercely competitive people who wanted to get over on the other.

:o

And people thought the thesis of 'Ghosts of Manilla' was controversial.

I was just pointing out that Saint Ali shat all over Joe, and the race he sought to better. I have no feelings one way or the other.
I agree what Ali did to Frazier was just wrong.

Mrs Diddly?

I thought they would be a Mr Diddly!

Others (Normal People) would not laugh over such trivial things. But of course simple retards do laugh.

Im pretty sure Frazier is not laughing over that.

Not a fan then are you, numbnuts? :D Seem to recall some of the hardcore Ali/Frazier nuts out there had a problem with Kram, but I just remember it as good book by one of boxings best writers. Not everyone's gonna agree with him, but so what.

Kram one of boxings best writers? This guy was sacked from Sports Illustrated for being a corrupt hack who took money under the table from Don King to write puff pieces about how great DK was and how his 70s ABC tournement (one of the most vile corrupt tourneys ever that f#cked fighters not alligned with King royally) was totally above board.

He got thrown out and Sports Illustarted was forced to do a humiliating apology piece to its readers because of all the sh#t Kram had wrote.

And then Kram has the audacity to attack Ali's character? Puuuhleeeease!!!!!

Yes, a million times more talented writer than Hauser, for instance. So he's flawed and fu**ed up a few times, that doesn't mean he's not a great writer - or you only read things by nice guys?

Ali was a nasty bastard to Frazier - not a very nice man back then.
