Yo Joey,
I hear rumors that you were going to turn pro after this junior world tournament. I think you should stick around the amateurs to 2012 and give the Olympics a shot. Can you get back to 201 so you don't have to box off with Hunter?

Things are good here. Did you get some good sparring with Nick Kisner? He lives not far from Annapolis and his father brings him here for sparring once and awhile.
You come a long way since Baku. :box: Winning a world championship is something to be proud of. Winning a senior worlds or Olympics is even cooler. Keep working hard.

Joey
Have you heard anything about Anthony Tettis or Paul Koon? I had thought that Anthony was going to turn pro last year, but he hasn't yet. Paul said that he was planning on turning pro after the NGG in May and yet I haven't seen anything about it. I know you have boxed both guys and are from Philly like Paul, so I thought you might know what's going on.

yes i have heard, anthony tettis was doing some work around his house and a tree fell on him. i dont kno wat kind of injuries it was but i heard it was pretty bad. and as for paul, well, no one knows with him. he was saying for a year or so now that he was going to turn pro? people were saying, like his trainer, that he was affraid to turn pro. i wouldnt kno why cause has good size to him, but thats wat i heard! if that is the case, why even box? i dont kno if it is true or not but i hope not. how have u been dennis?? tell jordan i said hello and thank u! and his grandfather!!

I have been doing OK. My law office is busy and the boxing gym is crowded. My son Niall is getting ready for his first open bout as he just turned 17. Jordan is back in the gym after taking the summer off. He will have his first bout since the Nationals in 2 weeks. I'll let Jordan and my Dad know that you said hi. Tell your grandpa that he is doing a great job with you and that your coach has taught you well. You looked great in the semi-finals and finals in Mexico (you probably looked great in all of your bouts, but I only saw the videos of those two).

That is too bad about Anthony Tettis. I hope he is doing OK.

I don't know why Paul would be afraid to turn pro. He is boxing a lot tougher guys in the amateurs than he would for the first 2+ years as a pro. In the last couple of years he has boxed you, Jordan, Nick Kisner, Anthony Tettis, Jeremiah Graziano, Craig Lewis, and other tough heavyweights. Staying amateur is a good idea for guys that need to mature, get stronger, gain experience or develop better skills. Paul doesn't need to get stronger and he is 22 or maybe 23. I would say he is ready for the pro ranks.
