Re: WILLIAMS V SOSNOWSKI (RBR)
Scrappy fight, Williams was just not good enough. I had him losing on points when the big left put him down. Williams did enough fouling so the Pol just retaliated. I didnt expect much and sure enough it was about how I saw it before the fight. Williams wouldnt give an interview, not surprising after such a bad loss. He really needs to retire now, his dreams of a title are definately over. Sad end to an up/down career that has at times seen Danny shining.

Not trying to be snarky, but Haye's achieved more than I believe Khan ever will, & I'm warming to young Amir & his "Chin you before you chin me!" performances.boxrec wrote:Yeah, Aud still looks very flimsy, williams should retire, Sprott isn't too durable, and time is against Skelton. Plus Mcdermott is rubbish.
Only David Haye is left, i hope he doesn't end up like Amir Khan.....
At cruiserweight, Haye not only beat the man who beat the man for the recognised title in said man's back garden, but then flattened a local pretender who many fancied to best him, thus establishing his claim to be asbolute & total undisputedly number one at the weight (apart from two people on the Current Scene & the household of Stevie Cunningham).
His reign wasn't a long one, to put it mildly, but d'you see Amir doing that?

I hope he fights skelton next, and skelton destroys him brutally.

Not sure what their religion has to do with anything, not sure I'm big on casual Islamophobia.
On the matter I think Williams should retire but I understand if he doesn't want to go out on a loss so a British Title fight may be the time.
Re: WILLIAMS V SOSNOWSKI (RBR)
I've just seen the interview with Sosnowski. He seems like a nice guy. Very respectful and polite. Best of luck to him.

MEANWHILE, MOVING AWAY FROM CASUAL BIGOTRY & BACK TO THE BOX
Danny, say goodbye mate. Give the strap away & walk (waddle?) off into the sunset. Getting decked by Albert Sosnowski, FFS. Good luck to Albert, nice bloke &c, but he honestly doesn't look all that between the ropes, does he?
{shakes head ruefully}
Hey, I wonder if Sosnowski vs Golota would fill a broom cupboard anywhere outside of Chicago or Warsaw?

Re: WILLIAMS V SOSNOWSKI (RBR)
Remember Lennox Lewis won the British Title against Gary Mason and Glen Mason. We were very lucky when we had Audley Skelton and Sprott because all were good at a level but the British HW scene has never been stocked with world beaters.boxrec wrote:I know haye has achieved more than Amir, but the british scene is getting old, and some of our younger fighters have failed....I hope Haye can regain our confidence.Datsue wrote:Not trying to be snarky, but Haye's achieved more than I believe Khan ever will, & I'm warming to young Amir & his "Chin you before you chin me!" performances.boxrec wrote:Yeah, Aud still looks very flimsy, williams should retire, Sprott isn't too durable, and time is against Skelton. The thing is, what you may feel is nice, I may not feel is nice. Sosnowski seems like a nice guy. Tyson's not a bad person, but I wouldn't describe him as "nice".boxrec wrote:You know, when he always used his "soft speaking" (lisp included) and said stuff like "i'm not really a bad person, i just have a lot of problems. I'm different now".

Ill phone the WBA now and recommend it as a final eliminator.Datsue wrote:Danny, say goodbye mate. Give the strap away & walk (waddle?) off into the sunset. Getting decked by Albert Sosnowski, FFS. Good luck to Albert, nice bloke &c, but he honestly doesn't look all that between the ropes, does he?

Is the same fighter who lost every rd to Zuri Lawrence

It was actually a close fight, the scores were ridiculous. Lawrence did deserve a close decision win though.world ranked wrote:Is the same fighter who lost every rd to Zuri Lawrence

Re: WILLIAMS V SOSNOWSKI (RBR)
I reckon Sosnowski will be a wanted man around Europe, his European rating will be pretty good off the back of this so Id imagine guys like Oleg Platov will be looking to get him to fight them so they can win and jump the queue for a European title shot.
Re: WILLIAMS V SOSNOWSKI (RBR)
I think he can beat far better, I think he should end against someone like McDermott et al who he can look good against if he chooses to.boxrec wrote:Anyone reckon Williams could beat Julius Francis? (for a retirement match)
Re: WILLIAMS V SOSNOWSKI (RBR)
Glad to hear Williams was knocked out.
Next step from here? Probably the next Prizefighter for heavies. I wouldn't even back him to win that.
