Mcdermott vs gammer rematch?

Audley vs Sam Sexton?

Sprott vs Skelton again
McDermott v Sprott Id imagine. Sprott as Iv said before is mandatory for the EBU EU title tho which he held for quite a while so he may want to go for that.

I doubt the board would let that happen to be honest. McDermott will be one of the guys squaring off for the vacant title if Danny does retire and Vacate.

We still dont know if he is retiring. He may well choose to fight for the WBF title and rattle off a few money spinning defences of that belt. I don't know whether the WBF have a policy on someone whos been stopped 3 weeks before?

Yeah I see what you mean now. However if I was Audley's promoter and Audley wins his next fight Id be very keen to get him in with Sosnowski before anyone else gets a shot at him. The EBU ratings before this fight looked like this

Champ - vacant

Challengers - Vidoz, Matt Skelton

Ratings

1 - Povetkin
2 - Haye
3 - Dimitrenko
4 - Sinan Sam
5 - Virchis
6 - Williams
7 - Bidenko
8 - Sprott
9 - Oleg Platov
10 - Francesco Pianetta
11 - Dennis Boystov
12 - Audley
13 - Dennis Bakhtov
14 - Bonin
15 - Sosnowski

I think the policy with the EBU ratings is if you stop someone of a certain ranking you go above them, so Sosnowski may end up as high as 4 or 5. Also when you take into account that all the guys from 5 upwards arent gonna be looking at the European title its very much a case of the next person to KO Sosnowski will be mandatory for the European title. Like I said, with this in mind I reckon he is gonna be getting offered fights left right and center off the guys in these ratings.

How much would everyone pay to watch a Haye Povotkin eliminator :-)

I like Danny a lot but he really needs to quit now before he gets hurt, the rings not the place to be when youre less than 100% focused, Dannys got by in the past on his heart and natural ability but theres only so many fights like the one last night that you can put yourself through before you are going to start having problems...

Indeed.

Danny is one of the few guys that can shake up any HW Fighter if he comes in focused and trained. But sometimes he seems to have no dedication or determination, espcially when his opponents pull out.

Come on, he can shake up most heavyweights active at the mo. Would he give Vitali or Wladimir any trouble even when focussed and trained well. I think not personally. Likewise against Chagaev, Valuev, Haye, Juan Carlos Gomez and Id imagine there are some other big hitters who I haven't thought of.

Danny is very good, but lets not start making out like he could be competitive against everybody.

He will probably lose yes, but he is one of the few that can hold his own and have a punchers chance on a good day.

Sorry mate you're deluded by your feelings for Danny.

Williams is very much past his sell-by date, in other words he is shot.

I shudder to think what either Klit would do to him, or any top 10 heavyweight.

Retirement should be the only option

Williams has always fought lethargic and like he had lead in his gloves.
The only exception was a shot to bits Mike tyson

If Frank Bruno was around in this day and age Williams would have been an after thought.

Williams has not performed against a decent live A grade fighter ever.

He is a liitle bit more crappy after saturday then he was before but that is it.

Its symptomatic of the era we live in, surrounded by fossilised 40 somethings in the heavyweight division, that Williams relative youth - age 35 - misleads many in to failing to accept he could be shot to shit. But the truth is, he is, yes he could perform a little better but he's faxing in performances now.

Relying on referees to give him the benefit of the doubt, taking lots and lots of heavy, full weight shots and he's failing miserably to employ any of his natural gifts, jab, hand-speed.

Its all gone. Remember a generation or two ago, Williams would have been put out to grass years ago.

He's had a long hard career and I say for the past three or four years he's been taking beatings even in victory.

Tyson, Klitschko, Skelton, Platov, McDermott (5th) and now little ole Sosnowski have battered him with big shots.

I hate to encourage a fighter to retire but a Danny Williams who is stopped by Sosnowski, and allows McDermott to batter him even in a solitary round, isn't going anywhere. He'll eanr money of his name for another two years, but does he need to?

I love the big ger-la but its time to accept he was never quite good enough and never quite disciplined enough at the right times.

Every blessing to him.

PS They wont take Sprotty for the Egypt gig if the Safrica market is key, he was done in a round a decade ago by whatshisname, with the tache....

100% agreed.

Lamon Brewster won a version of the heavyweight title.

And I don't think there is much between the two.

Shame the Tyson victory didn't lead to a fight with a Maskaev or a lazy Rahman or a Chagaev.

Williams would have had greater hope then....though of course, you never could tell with Danny.

Ive never really understood why people expect so much from Danny Williams? 4 of his 7 defeats have come against Brits (3 of whom he,d already beaten) His biggest wins are against a shot Tyson, an 18 fight novice Mat Skelton and a one armed come from behind victory (In a fight he should have cruised) over Mark Potter.
We have had years of him and McDonnel telling us hese the real deal
and hese gonna do this and that but the truth is hese never really produced anything consistent.
Hese always been a dirty fighter and now hese a face first crude slugger,He should pack it in as his hearts not in it anymore(If it ever was?)

I've spoken to Jimmy McDonnell about Danny, and he said himself that Danny's heart has never ever been in the fight game - it was always a battle to get him motivated.

When he fought Tyson, Jimmy told Clifford Ettienne that he would give him 100,000 dollars if he managed to knock danny out in sparringl; he then went and told danny that Ettienne had been badmouthing Islam and said he was going to knock Danny out, because as a born again christian, he disliked muslims.

The two of them then proceeded to knock seven shades of shit out of one another during sparring, and that it prepared Danny for the onslaught he got from Mike, and helped him survive it psychologically.

Williams struggled all night to subdue Sosnowski, who clearly fancied the job by the end of the 4th round.

The record still flatters Sosnowski greatly, but he worked hard for his win and deserves his moment.

It's danny's call, but I really don't want to see him taking any more punishment. He's had a good career and seems to have have other interests to keep him occupied away from boxing. He still has the British title, so who knows.
