This is a potential long fight for Mayweather in his first fight at light-welter. Corley's never been stopped

I'm going to miss this one, but I can't see Corley coming close.
If it was anyone else moving up so quickly, you'd give Chop Chop a good chance, but Floyd just looks in a league of his own. Easy points win I reckon.

This result impressed me.

Gatti should leave Floyd alone. He struggles with that kind of movement. It will be a big fight but Gatti should call out RH who is right up his street

Gatti said he would fight Spaddy in october/november if he beats Dorin

Mayweather on boxingtalk.net said he would fight spaddy if his court case went well

and Harris is set to meet Cotto so doesn't look so good for Hatton

It's quite perverse that Frankie boy seemingly bottled out of bringing Sharmba Mitchell over for Hatton, yet brings over a man Mitchell destroyed in four rounds last year. He's taking the piss.

They punked out of the Mitchell fight

Floyd Mayweather stepped up and his first fight at the weight fought a fighter far better than anyone Hatton has so far fought. Corley is still dangerous and in his prime (which we couldn't say about Tackie and Phillips)

It is embarrasing that Hatton is fighting this no hoper next month...........the yanks not so long ago had a Roycott and I hope to god one takes place over here with these Ricky Hatton mismatches

How about Hatton Vs Corley, that fight should have happened ages ago when Hatton was WBO 1 and Corley was Champion of the WBO. He's lost to Judah and Mayweather now, but still gives a good account of himself, surely Hatton Vs Corley would be a fight for Hatton now.

Corley is a good Southpaw and I think Floyd fought him very well. Good too see Mayweather dishing it out even after being hit clean a few times. Over all I think it was a very good fight for Floyd.

Even though hes a good Southpaw, Corley. His punch would not bother Hatton. The likes of Mitchell etc are way off by the looks of things and Mayweather is a no for sure.

Corley coming off two defeats........thats the usual form for Hatton fodder but Corley is too good yet to be classed as a potential Hatton victim. 2/3 years though and he'll be brought over :TU:

Now Corley has taken a beating they may let Hatton loose on him.

Maywether has great talent but his out of the ring atitude really stinks at times.

 That's EXACTLY what I said this morning after the fight. Lost to Judah and Mayweather but went the distance with them, probably get beaten by Cotto during the next 18 months which should make him the perfect opponent for Ricky in about 2 years time!

Did anyone notice Jim Watt call Corley 'Marcus DeCorley' during his ringwalk? Cracked me up...

Well i didn't think Mayweather looked bad at all, certainly better than I expected at 140. I thought he'd be giving ground for 3 minutes of each round but he was plenty strong enough in there ALTHOUGH when I see those clips of Corley v Judah I'm always struck at how small DeMarcus appears compared to super Zab.

The big tests are definitely to come for Floyd. Him & Gatti would be a nice showdown and one HBO will surely push for in the coming months.

Yes I thought Mayweather was excellent. A slight worry over the wobble he had in the 4th but what a round it was!

And that combination he put Corley down with at the start of the 10th got me up off my sofa, with the camera angle behind Floyd (by the way I thought the camera work was very poor) the way those shots just thudded in at lighting speed was spell-binding. I actually rewound it a couple of times to watch it again.

I'd probably pick Mayweather over anyone at Junior-Welter right now, I reckon he could outbox an aging Tszyu over 12 rounds, remember if Mayweather does get himself floored or in a spot of bother he can just back-pedal and steal a few rounds in a negative fashion.

I think he would murder Gatti, seriously not even close, Gatti wouldn't be able to see by the middle rounds.

Only see perhaps Cotto as someone who stop him dominating Junior-Welterweight.

You know what is really good about having Mayweather at Junior-Middle is that we should get the titles unified again, he generally seems to go down that route and with HBO backing him they will get the fights made.

As soon as Mayweather got tagged and shaken in the 4th I was so confident in his defence that he would be ok. As soon as he retreated to the ropes you knew their was just no way Corley is going to get through this brick wall. Its gotta be a one punch KO to get rid of Floyd, if he gets a chance to retreat and cover up its almost impossible to get through against him.

What about the three punch combination just before the knockdown in round 8. I love the way he just let Corley lean on him and try to tie him up before taking a step backwards and landing all three shots right on the button. When you watch him do things like that his claim to be the best ever doesn't seem a million miles away.

I've mentioned my reservations about Mayweather at this weight before, but after that performance i'm thinking about changing my mind. There are no really massive punchers at the top of the tree at this weight (some have a useful dig though), so i think the chances of one of these guys knocking him out with one punch are slim. I just can't see any of the fighters around at the moment catching him with the three or four punches i think it will take to stop him. Corley, for my money, is still one of the better fighters at lightwelter, but he was only able to hit Mayweather rarely and even then couldn't really get full power into his punches.

I really think he's timed his move up to perfection, because Tszyu is almost finished and, IMO, he beats Gatti, Mitchell and Harris comfortably. The only potential stumbling block is Cotto, but if Mayweather can get him soon, while he's relatively inexperienced then he could clean up at 140.

Very impressed.

Mayweather was class as expected.

People say that he would get KO'd by a bigger puncher, but I'm confident Floyd will do whatever he has to do to win. If that means boxing on the backfoot for 12 rounds then he will do it. He will not take those risks against a bigger puncher. He'd be foolish to - and the one thing we know he ain't is foolish.

Absolutely tremendous, I have most of Mayweather's championship fights on tape but this for me was his third best ever performance in a 12 rounder (fractionally behind his scintilating performances against Corrales and Manfredy). Coreley is undoubtedly still a class performer in his own right and I feel a bit for him cause with two defeats on the spin, is going to find it hard to come back.

Coreley vs Hatton or Witter would be excellent, I think Coreley could beat some of the top 5.

I really couldn't find a single fault with Mayweather, he had the power to break a solid enough 140 lb, although he didn't get a stoppage - he was closer to one than the hard hitting Judah. Even when hurt, his natural instincts are superb. Undoubtedly, he was rocked in the fourth, but look at his defence when Corely goes for the kill, its superb. That is something that comes through experience or is instinctive.

Mayweather seemed in the right frame of mind yesterday and fought exceptionally well. Faultless, better than the A- Watt gave.

As for his future, I just can't see him getting beat by anyone at 140, I think the only fighter I think I would FAVOUR to beat Mayweather is Vernon Forrest at Welter. Although, I do think there is some underating of Atruro Gatti here, he has got faster hands, better footwork, more variation and more power than Coreley.

I think Gatti is way overrated. The guys never beat a top fighter at lightwelter yet despite holding a belt. He gets outclassed I think if he steps up and fights a top guy. He also looked a shadow of even the former Gatti during the Branco fight, he might be done after the Ward wars.

Mayweather is a joy to watch and an outstanding techinician. The skills he has are priceless.

Great fighter, I hope he stays at light welter, and shakes up the division a bit.

Impressive.
Very Impressive.

This really is an exciting division. Can't see anyone bar Cotto and Judah if he's back at 140 troubling PBF.

That's a seasoned pro we saw on Sunday am. A game defense, A game offense

SUPERB
