My man-crush for David Haye gathers apace.

The dude is media-savvy as they come. I'll bet he knew the naysayers would want him to be seventeen stone & the plan was for fifteen & a half all along...

I can't see it happening, been watching all the Barrett footage they been showing on Setanta and I can't see him winning at all. I still like the look of the 4th round, but i might put a bet on Haye starching him in the 1st.

215 would be excellent, we need a 215 heavy with speed & punch power to prove to this cretinous smack talk You Tube generation that lumbering 250 lb weight lifter stiffs aren't the way forward in heavyweight boxing.

Hearing the 215 weight for Haye, and seeing his total calm & confidence played against Barretts slight nervousness and complaints and possible self doubt (and age) i'm starting to think Haye will whack him.

Barrett, surely deep in his subconscious, doesn't actually want to get in the ring with a Klitschko again?

66/1 all gone now I think and it was big although I don't necessarily agree its Haye's chin thats the problem but in fact temple shots that do him in, see Mock and Mormeck fights if memory serves.

Thompson caught him flush on the chin a good few times and he was more exhausted than hurt I felt, although many won't agree.

Anyways it can't go far surely either way and have taken the under four and a half rounds bet with Ladbrokes at Evens for a good few bob.

Fingers crossed its Haye and not Barrett who does the deed if I am to collect

I had some of that 66-1 earlier today, 4,5,6. Bunce is raving bout those odds on Setanta right now, they're showing weigh in. Barrett looks very confident, and Haye, well it goes without saying..

Haye might go too gun ho trying to get a KO and Barrett may counter him with some big shots like he did to Fields, Barrett is 37 but he is looking good for his age and he's here to win. Haye blowing his load early and getting taken out late is also possible, especially against a well schooled counter puncher who paces his attacks well.

Haye is an overwhelming favourate and a potential great in his prime none the less

Spud wrote:nah - he will not come in over 220lbs.

A little guess would be a pound either side of 217lbs.
No one ever listens!!!

And the thing is he would have been a tadge lighter but had a small meal whilst waiting for Monte Barrett to arrive.

I thought he would be a little bit heavier than he was for the Bonin fight.

The winner, and NEW BOXREC WEIGHT GUESSING CHAMPION OF THE WOOOORRRLDDD..............

DG!!

Well I was way off but I'm pleasantly surprised. Really refreshing to see a heavyweight in shape and in particular the fact that Haye's realised he doesn't need to put on a hugh amount of weight to be effective.
