Leapai v Cronje

Post by The Skull »

What a bloody good fight. :box:
Possibly the best Aussie Heavyweight fight I have seen for a long long time...
What a chin Cronje has, he took some good shots. A great addition to the Aussie heavyweight ranks.
And on a side note I thought it was great that this bloke who has adopted Australia as his new home had is hand over his heart during the Australian national anthem. Says alot about him.
And what about Leapai, he was in the best condtion I have seen him in and he came to fight. I thought the cards were closer and Cronje may have been unlucky but.... what a fight!

it was a terrific battle, fought at a quick pace for the heavies
had leapai winning by 1 round
the heavyweight divsion is looking good at the moment, no world beaters there
but a very even bunch

Great win for Alex keeps going from strength to strength, glad to see he has added a jab to his heavy hands.

I think a very entertaining fight for early next year would be Alex v Hoppa.

Never realised until i was having a conversation with Jamie Guy earlier this year that Alex is actually Elise Leapai a guy i played Rep football with for Brisbane and against at club level.

Really reserved and a good guy.

alex would destroy hoppa. i admire hoppa for fighting big bob because solo didn't have the guts to do it. but to suggest that it would even be close .man did you see how much holding and surviving was going on in the hoppa vs mirovic fight their know where near in the same league.

good fight. lack of defense was amazing though. But it's great to be entertained by Aussie Heavys. I think Alex got the nod as he closed the fight the better of the two. Round 5 (i'm pretty sure it was) will go down as one of the best this year. Alex can still go further in the division, but how far, who knows?

I thought Leapai was throwing and landing the better punches. He got Cronje with some in the ribs that made him wince. Good fight, though.
