lacy/taylor Vs froch/pascal
Was reading boxing news last night and read that the winner of lacy vs taylor tonight will be the 1st mandatory of winner of froch vs pascal . i regularly go to frochs fights as im from nottingham myself so would love to see him in his 1st defence at nottingham trent fm arena against one of those two . i personally would like it to be taylor though cos froch would have to destroy lacy to get any credit as he would constantly be compared to calzaghe and if struggled or got beat it would rubbish all the constant calling out of calzaghe that carl has been doing for years , personally though i dont think froch would beat taylor but its still the one id want to see . a win for froch against taylor would then put him in a position to have finally fought calzaghe cos previously calzaghe has seen froch as not a big enough name in my opinion but unfortunately looks like that may have come too late.

Here we go again.
If this, if that.
Suggest you focus upon what Froch has to deal with right now.
The Pascal fight is not a gimme.

well that was a slight over reaction there wasnt it . especially as i never suggested pascal was easy just that id like to see that fight should it happen . it would be the mandatory regardless of who wins the froch/pascal . besides arent forums like this for people to discuss their opinions not to just listen to yours.

He didn't say the Pascal fight was a gimme, and he is perfectly entitled to look at who Froch might meet down the line if successful.twenty six wrote:Here we go again.

Re: lacy/taylor Vs froch/pascal
Taylor had the choice to fight Froch for the WBC title, THE PRESTIGIOUS WBC title, but he refused that in favour of fighting a washed up Lacy in an eliminator for the VERY SAME title - only in pro boxing would you get this carry on, this is what loses the sport credibility.

I'd love to see Froch vs Taylor (if Carl wins) at Nottingham.
It would be a great scalp to have on his record, a win/win situation for both Carl and Jermaine as JT would become a two weight titlist, also expand his exposure fighting here and Carl could get a respected american name on his record, a recent former undisputed champ to boot.

Maybe it was smart Taylor fighting Lacy, but disappointing to us.
Now Taylor has just about shut Lacy out - former Olympic teammates, backstory for US viewers, etc - he could potentially fight Calzaghe or Froch. He could fight Calzaghe, and fail, and still be mandatory for Froch-Pascal winner.
Taylor has 2 losses to Pavlik, but 2 wins over Hopkins. This will maybe make him that extra bit appealing to Calzaghe, who let's not forget wanted to fight Taylor instead of Kessler.
