Yes, and may be too, one of South American greatest:
Jose Carattoli
Re: Boxrec Hall of Fame Ballot (November 2008)
Well it's the last day....who should I pull off of my list to put Lloyd Marshall on? Or have I put together to solid of a list for Lloyd to find a space? If someone can give me a credible answer and post a bit of a advocacy/defense blurb I'll probably take the action. He deserves the recognition. But don't ask me to dump Jeanette or Jackson.
Who comes down for Carottolli? You'd have to have a pretty good explanation.

To be honest, I didn't realize you had already added another name to your list.BoxBuzz wrote:Well it's the last day....who should I pull off of my list to put Lloyd Marshall on? I don't know if it's too late to change your vote, but here's my case for Lloyd Marshall anyway:
He has at least four big wins over current IBHOF inductees:
Ezzard Charles (by crushing KO!!
Jake LaMotta
Charley Burley
Joey Maxim
Teddy Yarosz
Lou Brouillard
He beat a batch of other future/former champions:
Ken Overlin
Freddie Mills
Babe Risko
And then some other impressive names on his resume:
Holman Williams
Jack Chase
Anton Christoforidis
As for who I'd take off instead of him... how about Joey Archer? Neither one of them ever won a title, but Archer had only two wins against HOFers, Tiger and Robinson: one was on a disputed split decision, the other was against a guy 45 years old and in the final fight of his loooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggg career. Unlike Marshall, who was deprived of title shots by titles being frozen in the war years, Archer actually had two title shots and just fell short each time.
Anyway, that's my 2 cents.

I'm too lazy to tally these votes myself, but it looks like George Dixon got enough votes to finally make it in.
I think Ted Kid Lewis may have just scraped in as well. Tough call, though... it's going to be close!
If he indeed has, then it looks like he's settled his score with Jack Britton once and for all... at least for now.

Did Jimmy Barry and Luis Rodriguez finally make it in?? The tension mounts...
Looks like Tony Zale and Lloyd Marshall have been shut out once again. :x

I was drove by the kind and nice and innocent text of My2Sense. Between the voters in the HOF there is a salutary ambient of comradeship, consideration and friendliness, and that was the only reason. I didn't realize you had already added another name to your list. Excused me. This is the first time I apologized beeing amiable.
Now, Jose Carattoli obtained 3 or 4 votes, and it's very good! Argentina and South America haven't much of his greatest fighters in the HOF due the ignorance of their history.
Jose Carattoli was a LH, champion of Argentina in LH and H (Victorio Campolo, the H champ, avoided to fight against him); Carattoli beat Tommy Loughran, KO'ed Isidoro Gastanaga, Guillermo Silva, Vicente Olivieri, olympic champion Victor Avendano, Pedro Mancieri and a lot more, and scored a draw with Don McCorkindale and another against Loughran. As Firpo between the heavyweights, is Carattoli in the light heavyweights.
Please, see this short work on Carattoli:

Most people, even seasoned boxing researchers knew little about Carattoli other than the fact that he was a light heavyweight who beat the great Tommy Loughran, which in itself, is a remarkable feat, especially for a light heavyweight
