Yeah, I agree. More and more Rahman is becoming this era's Mike Weaver. Rahman was so primed to become a star after knocking out Lennox, but it ended all too quickly for me as a fan. If anything, Rahman is far from being a "shot" fighter, and I just hope the best for him. He's easy to root for.

In Germany on December 13 Ukrainian giant Wladimir Klitschko defends his IBF & WBO heavyweight titles against shopworn American Hasim Rahman.
Wladimir was regarded as the best heavyweight on the planet (which doesn't mean a lot, David Haye apart) until big brother Vitali came out of a four-year retirement in October and thumped Nigerian pudding Sam Peter in nine one-sided rounds - a man Wlad could only outpoint in 2005.
To be honest, Vitali has always been the better of the two but Wlad can still fight a bit at 51-3 (45) and looks too much for today's version of Rahman, who once flattened Lennox Lewis and held major world titles but is now 36 and looking pretty awful. He barely got home against the unremarkable Zuri Lawrence in 10 rounds last year, which he won with 40 seconds remaining and behind on one of the cards; Lawrence was expected to last a couple of rounds, at best. He was then involved in a shabby no-contest with blubbery James Toney, which ended in farce when Rahman, nicknamed "The Rock", sat it out at the end of the third round due to a (smallish) cut over his left eye. Under the injury rules, the fight was scrapped. Toney was winning, by the way - and he is past his best himself.
These were Rahman's last two 'fights', so one wonders what he has done to secure this shot. Klitschko was originally lined up to defend against unbeaten Russian Alexander Povetkin, who tripped over a tree root when running (such a bad excuse, it has to be true) and tore a ligament in his left foot. Rahman still doesn't deserve a shot but he cops yet another break
On the night, however, Rahman's recent luck looks unlikely to save him.

Wlad should use this fight to make a statement.

He could take Hasim out within a round if he really went for it.
Of course he won't as that means taking major risks and Rahman can certainly bang.

Wlad is too cautious to get hit by one of Hasim's bombs. I see Wlad systematically breaking down Rahman and having him out of there in the 4th or 5th. It's not the worst fight in the world, especially when Rahman is a replacement, although the Klit will win.
