Floyd Patterson Meets...
Re: Floyd Patterson Meets...
Out of love....
Patterson wins a tough decision. His late fight spurts and flurries
gets him the nod. He touches the canvas twice early in the
fight.
Moorer's jab is a real issue for Patterson early on, but he manages
to find his way inside and satisfies the judges with his work effort.
BUT in all honesty I can see MM KO'ing Patterson. I just happen
to chose a fantasy reality where Patterson, does enough to get
the close dec.

Re: Floyd Patterson Meets...
Agree. Difficult to predict a winner. Moorer has the jab & power to trouble Patterson. He wasn't a massive, all-out banger at Heavy (like he was as a LHW), but Moorer had fast hands & a type of sneaky power at Heavy. He may've surprised Patterson.
On the other hand, Patterson is a reasonable pick as winner here. Moorer didn't like men quicker than himself, & Patterson was faster. I also wouldn't be surprised if Patterson's left hook hurt Moorer. Maybe not a KO in the cards, but Patterson's power is shockingly undersold.
Close call.
